Just seen that Millwall midfielder Henry has been ruled out for the season, as has their Arsenal loanee Afobe. Anyone else think they may decide to call him back from us?

Often theres a clause to say they cant within a certain time frame. Hopefully thats the case.

Has he actually signed yet though? Thought he was just training with us to assess his fitness levels, before making a decision.

Think there maybe other "Issues" holding up the loan deals for Reeves and Tam.

Hopefully everything will be resolved sharpish and they sign asap.

Distribution problems as a result of civil war in the Democratic Republic of the Congo?

I had assumed the "delay" was because maybe they could only sign on loan for a month and if it is delayed until 8th March they could play in the JPT on 7th April !!

I think we can get Reeves until the end of the season with a delay so we can utilise the full 93 days. As far Tam he can only come for month due to the time he has already spent with us

That would certainly make sense, but if Smiffy says there may be an embargo then its highly likely there is.

Wont be amused if it stops us signing either (although is doesnt stop extensions to existing loans)

I would have thought we won't sign Tam until he is close to match fitness. Best to let him train until he is ready .to play

Ahh but I never mentioned the "E" word!

But yes, I do believe there are issues, other than simply waiting to make sure we get maximum use out of the pair.

Whatever it is, lets hope it is sorted so the pair can come in. Although I do feel the horse has already bolted on this season.

Everyone seems to be trying very hard not to mention a certain carton-based fruit juice drink. The mention of it makes people very jumpy.

If finances are in the way, then it has been the story of the season. Had we been able to sign certain players in the summer, we wouldn't have taken two months to build a decent side. Gave us far too much to do. So frustrating.

Mkandawire travelled with the team yesterday then went back last night because the embargo hasn't been lifted.

Great news... BUT... I think that one of the biggest effects that Laird and Mkandawire had on the team was to provide the central stability that allowed Timlin to play to his best and that is what we will still be missing.

Also Tomlin and Assombalongas incessant pressing and closing down of ndefenders, hurrying them into mistakes and stopping them play. Britt hasn't looked the same player without Tomlin and neither Reeves, Mayor, Lund, Woodyard or Leonard will perform the Timlin role. Maybe Lund, I don't know enough about him.

I think the point here is that we had a really good blend and until all the elements of that blend are back, we may struggle to recreate the form we had, which was awesome. Obviously we won't get all elements back this season and possibly never. But here's hoping that it gives us enough.

Excellent post.

Um bongo in the hizzy. Although with tomlin and laird back soon and a confidence boisting win on saturday and the return of mohsni do we need him I know he was good but the main bonus of having him here was the freeing up of timlin to roam at will. Without timlin would the tam effect be so noticeable.
