A Bit of Fun Mildenhall to Millwall

Whilst I agree and I'm sure it will we still desperately need a lot of players to come in too - you can't start a new league season with 9!!

Mildy goes and we are left with 7 "Contracted" players, by my calculations!

UPDATED LIST

Under contract
- 8 players (1 GK, 1 Def, 3 Mid, 3 Fwd)

Mildenhall 2011 (3yr deal 2008) **ON TRANSFER LIST**

Herd 2011 (1yr deal 2010)

Grant 2012 (2.5yr deal Oct 09)
Christophe 2011 (2.5yr deal Jan 2009)
O'Keefe 2011 (3yr deal Nov 2008 )

Laurent 2011 (2.5yr deal Dec 2008)
Paterson 2012 (2.5yr deal Jan 2010)
Crawford 2012 (2yr deal 2010)

Non-Contracted - 4 players (1 Def, 1 Mid, 2 Fwd)

Spencer 2010 (6mnth deal Jan 2010) **NEW DEAL OFFERED**
Moussa 2010 (1yr extension, 2009) **NEW DEAL OFFERED**
Gilbert 2012 (2yr deal 2010) **OFFERED PRE-CONTRACT TERMS**
Corr 2012 (2yr deal 2010) **OFFERED PRE-CONTRACT TERMS**

Have it on reasonable authority that Mildenhall will be signing for Millwall next week as we get the last of our big(ish) earners off the books.

at the end of the day if he goes to millwall i think he will be well playing above himself in the championship and will soon be found out as a weak link as millwall will be lucky to stay up this year round.

If he goes to Millwall I reckon he'll be warming the bench every week, so he won't be playing above himself at all but replicating Shorty by going for the money (don't blame either of them for that BTW).

Looking at the Millwall stats their current keeper, David Forde has has played every minute of every League match since his Lions debut at the start of the 2008/9 season. He had 19 clean sheets in 2008/09 & 21 last season being narrowly pipped for the Golden Glove award both times. He's only missed 1 JPT game in those 2 seasons, presumably to give the re,serve keeper a run out.

Are they really going to replace him with Moaning Millie?

Mildenhall's being signed as a second choice 'keeper to play behind Forde, so it's a good move for all three parties involved really. We get Mildenhall's wage off the books, Mildenhall gets paid to play second fiddle to a superior 'keeper and Millwall get a good enough reserve 'keeper for bobbins.

For the record, I actually rate Mildenhall. I think he's far better than most would like to admit on here and his errors are often accentuated because of the love for his predecessor. He has his faults, but if he didn't he wouldn't be playing for us.

Mildenhall wonderland chant is among my favourite football chants 'He used to be ***** but now he's alright'. Met him in Sainsburys and had a chat and actually I thought he was alright.Didn't do a bad job for us in goal at all so good luck to him. It will be nice to know from his point of view that he might actually get his wages when they are due and not two or three months late,at what remains of this football club.

I prefer to use the term reduce the amount of unpaid tax and NI we will default on to HMRC next time, certainly won't be freeing up any budget as we clearly don't have one.

Sturrock certainly wouldn't be here if he didn't think our financial position had improved enough to allow him a budget. I sincerely hope he is right.

The club obviously convinced him of the future, especially as I heard an interview where he was talking about our new stadium. Surely he hasn't been mis-lead over our financial position.

Ken, much as you dislike Ron (and he has done much to make him dislikeable) what purpose would be served by bringing in Sturrock and lying to him when he would clearly just pack his bags and decamp when the truth came out? Perhaps, just perhaps, Brunning was telling the truth in court and Sainsbury's, as some on here have predicted, have made the decision to see the project through and keep the Good Ship SUFC off the rocks while the Stadium is built?

Well, according to all the Ron haters on here, the world and his wife know of our problems at the present, and it has also been claimed that no one will touch us with a barge pole. Try putting an arguement to your claims before wildly speculating.

Again, similar to the others, I wish him well if he's off. He was still wearing the no.1 training kit in the photos shown the other day though so I'll wait to be fully convinced of the move. Of all those that have left, to be honest, he's the one we can least afford to lose from a playing perspective, he'd be a pretty damn good GK for L2.

A job is better than no job, simple as. We, the ex players and management have been given false promises from Ron for too long now. Sturrock is new to the owners so will give them a chance as too players without a club probably. I will give anyone we sign and the new management my full support despite being disgusted with the sacking of Tilly & Brush.

On the otherhand i have absolutely no time or belief in the way the club is being run. Ron has massively failed yet still deny any responsibility which i find pathetic.

If Mildy does leave then good luck to him. Im sure his next boss won't be paying him late every now and again.

Any idea why he hasn't signed a contract and actually committed himself yet then ?

I don't see any signings yet, a couple of pre-contract agreements and a new management team that haven't signed a contract.

Forgive me for not getting excited.

Tilly didn't sign a contract until about 8 months into his reign.

There are several reasons why he might not have signed, and being canny and waiting to "just make sure" wouldn't be one of the worse ideas he could have. But as has been pointed out, he has confirmed that he has taken the job, and talked about the three year contract, so a verbal contract exists.

And if that doesn't excite you, surely the news that the Trust have been in talks with Sainsbury's property department and now feel that Ron is the horse to back must at least arouse a flicker of hope?

I really would quite like to get my hands on a copy of this newsletter and see what PF's reasoning is. I wonder who he has been talking to at Sainsbury's.....

Yeah several of these £££££ been promised no doubt but he must be wondering if he will actually get them, come on the guy's been around a while and seen just about everything in football I would think, right now him not signing tells me he doesn't trust RM any more than most of us do !
