Migrant "children" from Calais

Yep of course....why did the French allow it though?

Imagine if one large mob of hippies rocked up to say Priory Park and proceeded to build a mini town with donations flooding in...would the council and police allow it.....Defo not.

France had a reason which was probably to put the UK under pressure to take the migrants en masse which thankfully the a Government stood firm and refused...just think if barmy Jezza had been in power.

You do realise,I suppose, that most people were in the Calais camp because they wanted to get to the UK and not to stay in France?

There is little evidence of that theory.....true those shady interviews where maybe 20 migrants in total wanted to get here...even the official total number in the camp which ranged from 10,000 down to 6000 was exaggerated IMO.

Recent interviews with those migrants who left the camp all said they were happy to stay in France.

On the basis, presumably, that the refugees concerned, must have realised that they had scant,if any ,chance of actually making it to the UK.

Yes possibly ?

However the authorities told the world there was 10,000 in the camp...consider the Hall when packed, after the game there are hordes of fans...yet TV footage of the camp only showed small clusters of people maybe numbering 500 or so....the queues to leave were average at best..maybe 1000 .

My point is the authorities lied about the numbers....they lied when the said the camp is now empty......they lied about the children....they lied about conditions in the camp.

Oh the irony

About 6,000 refugees have been processed and sent on to other reception centres in France, apparently.

Leaves 4000 wandering about then.......restaurants,shops plus a church...not too bad.....where did they get money from?

According to an item I saw on French news earlier, some 1,000 have turned up at an unofficial camp in the Stalingrad area of Paris, (19th arrondissement) in the last week, increasing the numbers there to 3,000.

Ironically, our younger daughter has just moved into a rented flat in the area and she was telling us about the camp last week.
