Message to COSU

Jesus wept, what is this thing about Neil Harris?

I saw Millwall play numerous times during his first and second spells as manager. He loves a 4-5-1 formation with a target man up top. He loves signing journeymen. He is a million times more stubborn than Kev with his methods.

Millwall fans were glad to see the back of him both times he left the club.

Just look at his managerial record and his PPG stats.

Those calling for Kev’s head now will be the exact same ones calling for Harris’ head within a few months, bookmark it.

I’d personally say if Harris came in, he wouldn’t finish the season.

He spent a fortune at Millwall. Obviously nowhere near some other championship/ex-prem clubs, but he didn’t operate on a shoestring budget.

John Berylson always invested well into Millwall
Fourth lowest wage bill in the division though...

To what end though?

Surely if your plan is to make a change then its better to do it now than later.

My personal choice would be Harris and Barrett until the end of the season. At least the team would show some endeavour in the final third and have a crack.

Lose away daggers and things will start to get toxic. They were toxic in the west today. Fans are starting to turn on each other..
Because COSU are committed to him, and (at the moment) believe he deserves the opportunity to rebuild with an interrupted summer. I'm personally not seeing enough to change my mind on that at the moment.

If we're in this position at this time next season, then that's a different matter, imo, but I think Maher deserves the chance to try to ensure that we're not.

Also struggling to get my head around toxicity and turning on each other.

Were worthy of toxicity. I don't give a monkeys what division it was in. What we were seeing then was way worse than it is now. It was a shambles and an embarrassment. The club was falling apart in front of our eyes and was a laughing stock.

In the context of what has gone on here, and the damage that is still being fixed, shouldn't (yet) be cause for toxicity, imo. Again, should we get sucked right into a relegation battle, and/or be in the position next season, those are different matters. But I'm just not seeing it right now.

I have and it was much better than what I've seen for a huge majority under Kev. I'm not even suggesting I want Harris in but come on there is a massive gulf in managing Millwall to perform in the Championship than Southend in NL.
Because it was with Championship players.

Put Kev in charge of Millwall and I'm pretty sure what you see would be better than what you're seeing under him here at the moment.

Millwall have the lowest budget in the championship.

Might not always be pretty but its a results business.

Cambridge and Gillingham were improved under him.
You say it's a results business, but I'm fairly sure you (and if not you, then lots of others) have been complaining that the football isn't entertaining.

If you want entertainment and think Maherball is bad, you'll be even more hacked off with Harrisball.

Not sure why people think he's suddenly what we need.

To get a team with the fourth lowest (debatable) budget in the championship to comfortably mid table is no easy feat.

He did well and Gillingham and Cambridge. Both fan bases thought highly of him.

I'm not saying Cosu should go for that but merely stating a preference.

What has Maher done. Last year we missed out on the play offs with just 14 players and a 10 point defecit.

We are worse off this season with a bigger squad and staff getting paid and no points deduction.

That is unforgiveable

It's a balancing act. Their goal is to make the club sustainable but one of the ways to help raise income is to get back into the EFL.

I know that some COSU members understand this but that some are less bothered about promotion as a means to help achieve sustainability.

There are so many things wrong at SUFC that it's hard to really know where they should start. The biggest statement of intent they can make at this point is to support Maher by recruiting strongly and early in the summer. We've seen Cardwell replaced by Kendall and Kensdale replaced by a loanee. Both arrivals were months after their counterparts departed.

We have to improve recruitment.

One of the main problems is we will be stuck with 13 ( the majority) of the current squad until 2026.

Do you think the players are playing for him ?losing 3 nill at home to anyone in this league is a sackable offence don’t see how he can stay

A lot of those players are having a bad season with us, no question. But that still gives >10 spaces to fill with players that should go immediately into the starting XI.

We cannot afford to be recruiting players that can't cut it. We need at least 6 players along the lines of Cardwell, GSM, Kensdale, Andeng-Ndi, Coker, Taylor & Ralph to immediately improve the first team. There is no space for also-rans.

Best try to get rid of 7 of the current 13 then.

Why? Why is it unforgivable?

What about if we finish the season where we are. Maher is given HIS FIRST uninterrupted summer to recruit.

He does it, does a brilliant job, and we win the league or go up through the play offs? Do you forgive him then?

I listened to Undr The Cosh with Mick McCarthy the other day and he said football management is an anagram. One minute you are GOD the next you are DOG. That’s what we are seeing at the moment with the fanbase.

Ultimately, football fans are fickle. If we win, we are the best team and will win the league and when we do everyone is a legend. When we lose, and get relegated or miss out on what we expect, everyone is useless from top to bottom.

29 goals in 26 games. 532 or bust very rarely changes and it’s costing us games, has his favourites. a fan base that is Turing, players underperforming and it’s his job to get the best out off them this season has been disgraceful other than a handful of results the home form isn’t good enough and it’s the same slow **** football. mahers been found out and change is needed all this sentimental crap will keeps us in this league for years
