That's the point, she didn't. She just said she did.

My original post wasn't moany at all. What annoyed me was OBL saying the club had asked her to apologise. Firstly they hadn't, she lied. Secondly, that's no way for a professional outfit to be apologising for something

Why should they. Besides OBL didn't claim they asked her to.

I popped over for an hour at the end, with my 5 year old daughter.

She enjoyed, so I enjoyed it.

Mixed with some of the players , picture with Phil and my daughter, watched a bit of football, daughter jumped on bouncy castles ... jeez what's to moan about sometimes !

I do think there are some on here that just like to dig me out for the fun of it, so, here you go, this is directly from Danny Macklin, the track was listed as an edit version, which of course, it wasn't, so

"We are of course sorry and apologise for any offence caused".

Thought yesterday was brilliant. My boys absolutely love it every year. Players very relaxed and seemed genuinely happy to mingle and chat. Worked well them working their way up the line rather than sitting in the tent. These days mean more to the kids than they will ever realise. Not all clubs do these sort of days so credit to SUFC.

Only negative was was a little accidental casual rascism on my part. We were getting the Blues Player cards signed and I managed to give MaF's card to Theo Robinson! I was obviously pretty embarrassed when he realised, fortunately he laughed it off!

It's brilliant for the youngsters to be able to get up and close and mingle with the players , their heroes !

This type of access is dying in football, especially the higher the club , so let's embrace it whilst we have it .

Or let's wait and moan when the club think, what's the point and cancel it !

anyone have any pics of the day?

There you go.

You cannot win OBL, when posting and keeping up to date with things either from the club or The Trust, you are damned if you do and damned if you don't

Let the children have their digs, they will soon tire if they don't get a response and go to bed

Keep up the good work

if you are worried about the 'N ' word on a song....whatever the 'N ' word is....I have heard of the 'F' word but not the 'N' word.....is it that bad is it worse than the 'F' word

Then please don't take your children to Football in case someone might swear or use the 'N' word......off to research this terrible life changing word beginning with 'N'......if it was 'C' then I can understand that and no person should be subjected to the word 'Colchester' for any reason

Well all i can say is i hope your kids never go to the movies because that N word and many others are used frequently!

I was thinking the same, the N word is widely used these days especially in films. I hear it so much that I'm not entirely sure it's not politically incorrect anymore. Even black people call each other it and black people calling white people it (TED 2) which I nearly wet myself over.

It is a sorry state of affairs but I do think that there are some who have agendas that may be either consciously or unknowingly based on sexism.
There is a noticeable lack of female membership in the supporters groups and on this forum; where as there is a noted and IMO welcome rising level of female supporters in general.
Keep up the great work with the juniors and the trust; ALL voluntary, time consuming and also stressed at times for sure.

Is it? I can remember the last film I saw when someone called another person a "n" when it wasn't used in a derogatory manner. Perhaps| I watch the wrong type of films.

It is highly offensive if used in a demeaning context. I believe it was first used during the slave trading days. If the word has become one which can be said in a non offensive way by black people to each other - whilst not really by white people, then after hundreds of years of predudice in the other direction it's not really the end of the world.

It is very common trust me, I must have watched hundreds where black people seem to be calling each other the N word. I can't say if you're watching the wrong type of films, it's just my observation from a lot of films I've watched.

You've hit the nail on the head here, black people seem to call each other it (in films). Brother used to be a term that was highly used between black people but the N word seems to have come back.

It hasn't 'come back' as such. Black people didn't call each other it hundreds of years ago. It is being used in an entirely different context when you hear it in those films.

Exactly..... That's my point, black people seem to be using the word as a term of brotherhood it seems.
