Manager Sacking and Appointment Thread

Think there's some revisionist history going on there. Lampard did well at Derby and in hindsight that was quite an achievement. He earned his opportunity at Chelsea.
Was it? Derby only got hit with financial sanctions in 2020, which was after Lampard left. When he was there he was given a good budget (spending £12.5m in transfer fees). Derby finished 6th in the season that Lampard was manager for, which isn't bad, but it was also exactly the same position Derby finished the season before that.

He certainly didn't have a bad record but I don't think many Chelsea fans would have thought a manager that had 1 year of experience in the championship should be given the Chelsea job if it wasn't a club legend.

He also had some very good players like Mason Mount and Tammy Abrahams. He should’ve got them promoted.

Well I guess that's a matter of opinion and we can agree to disagree. But it's not a matter of opinion that Abraham never played for Derby - he was on loan at Villa when Big Fat Frank was managing Derby.

:Facepalm:Who am I thinking of then?

They had a really good squad which is what I was getting at and should have gone up! He didn’t deserve the Chelsea job off the back of his time at Derby. And he is proving that with his time at Chelsea and now Everton.

Whatever happens, Potter is a brave bloke stepping into Tuchel’s shoes. It’ll make or break him, Chelsea fans will be hoping he’s not another Frankie Lampard.
They all ready have a replacement lined up in case he doesn’t succeed , Ruben Amorim

Southend have done exactly the same but without the success and ended in two relegations.
True.

On reflection I don't give a flying stuff what Chelsea (or any other team) do there is only one team for me & only one I care about.

UTB 🤗 💙

One win in nine will do that! They could have perserverd with him he might have come good. They should stay up hartlepool and rochdale are cack.
