On top of the reasons outlined already, you may be able to get economies of scale by making twice the sales but these would only  be recognised if we reached somewhere near our goal.

Also, I think, in theory, it is semi-variable costs that may rise.  Variable costs should stay the same.  This is assuming we have a profit margin of sorts on each sale.

Understandably, you wouldn't want the club making money from this sort of thing but it's difficult to budget with such an uncertain demand.  If it went anywhere, I'm sure people would prefer it to go to Southend.

That doesn't make nearly as good a joke though.

I'm not convinced it would get more than a few hundred, sadly. Somehow I can't see a lot of the old boys who sit int he West and moan at Jupp all game fancying it. Getting over a thousand would certainly be commendable. Not sure how you'd drum up support like that in as little time as we have though.

I think the point Mark's trying to make is that people are all too quick to criticise if we don't update something, but when we have a news story THREE days before anyone else, including the official site and the Southend United bible that is ShrimperZone, nobody seems to care.

Sometimes it makes you wonder what the point is of what you're doing...
