Post-Match Thread and Ratings Leyton Orient 1-2 Southend United

Ok, this is in consultation:

Joyce - 7, got some good handling in today, much needed confidence, one dodgy moment
Franno - 7, I know he's gonna be CP's MotM for two assists but not our MotM for me - solid, just want a bit more guts Franno!
Morrison - 8, immense, would love to sign him cos I feel he's a more realistic proposition than Dervite
Barrett - 7, good, solid Captain's performance today and God did we all love the goal!
Malone - 7, I like him, I really do and feel it's more realistic to hope for him to sign than Morrison
Laurent - 6, Franny, I love you to bits but today something wasn't quite right and then when Jeff came on you got taken off. It's not my imagination that he plays better when Jeff's on the pitch
Macca - 7, didn't play like he's going before the next game, big, big smiles at the end and very pumped. Played well and controlled his temper despite some terrible decisions
Moussa - 7, looked okay in the middle of a 5 man, rumours are he's put in a transfer request
Grant - 5, poor today, and I normally rate him in midfield. He and then Jeff were there to cover, Granty tried but whether it was knocks or what, he struggled
Scannell - 7, was knackered fter 30 minutes, puffing and blowing. Amazed to see him out for 2nd half let alone last the match. Some great work at times but coupled with some really lightweight stuff
Barney - 7, is God, bless his cotton!

Walker for Laurent, Jeff for Grant - Jeff did ok, can't say I noticed Walker

Ref - Gavin Ward is absolutely THE worst ref I have seen on this planet

If that's true about Moussa and we let him leave simply because we wouldn't cater for him in the centre of the park then it'll be the worst decision I've seen at the club in my lifetime. Worse than Hooper, worse than Kightly.

Remains to be seen, not seen anything to convince me otherwise, though did play better in the middle of a 5 man midfield than he has of late, not to say he didn't make mistakes tho

Indeed, if true it's really worrying news

For those of you who think he's the best thing since sliced bread. Yes, he played well today, but that in comparison to what we've seen recently is out of character. And if he has put in a tranfer request would explain a lot.

He's not really competitive enough and he looks like he's playing with the hump lately, a decent fee and i'll wave him off. Really not bothered.

The fact Ricky Duncan holds Moussa in such high esteem is enough for me to not worry about his attitude at all. Duncan's never hesistated in moving the bad apples on in the past no matter how talented they are... i.e. Abalimba.

Shamelessly stolen from :obl: and amended where applicable:)Ok, this is in consultation:

Moussa - 6 better than Col ewe but still disinterested Grant -6 no better or worse than Moose, usual sweeping up stuff and free-kicks for falling over Scannell - 7, was knackered fter 30 minutes, puffing and blowing. I know what you're saying, but we've been having this discussion over recent games, if players do not share/get things then it doesn't work. Moussa rarely has gone and ackonwledged the fans and now I'm afraid, it's coming back to bite him. Southend has always been about players and fans being in total harmony, (maybe not best word, but bit ****ed!)
Give me Macca over Moose any day. Franck seems to have lost his first touch a bit and i think he needs a rest, i'd have benched him today.

See, I owe you a kiss!

Ah alright, we're judging players on temporary form then? In that case, McCormack should've gone in the Summer.

Yeah and in all probability he nearly did, who knows?
Listen chum, form ain't tempory, form is currently.

And current form wins matches.

You might not see Moussa tracking back to the edge of his own box, that just isn't his game as an attacking midfielder, but you can't question his work rate and he does work tirelessly. Things haven't come off for him recently, whether it's a frustration at the lack of real oppurtunities in his favoured position or burn out from being one of the main stays in the squad this season I don't know, but I know I'm not alone in having seen enough of Moussa to know he's got the talent to persevere with.

There comes a point in each players career where you just have to stick them in and see what they're capable of over a run of games. Unfortunately, with our current predicament, I don't think that'll happen anytime soon.

I really couldn't give a rats arse if a player came and acknowledged my support to be honest, as long as he puts in 100% to a performance then that's good enough for me. There've been plenty of players that have been useful and haven't clapped to the stands, and theres been plenty of crap that's taken the time to do so.

Agree 100%.

I'd much rather someone who does **** all during 90 minutes but goes over and applauds the fans at the end of the game than someone with some actual footballing ability and can weight a pass.

Moussa thrives more in less attritional matches and sadly, with this current side, every game seems to be attritional. In the second half of last season, when we were strong in attack, he flourished.

Matt.....you're not agreeing with me again are you, I tend to think your tongue is very firmly in your cheek here!
