Dont actually believe that there is a wide spread boycott. Yes the crowds are down, but because we are currently mid table, not because of RM. If we started to win, and say won 8 games on the spin and the same RM rumours were in public domain, the crowds would increase. Whether the haters of RM like it or not, 80% of football fans are swayed by results and performances on the pitch, not the board room !

I think our crowds have been quite healthy this season, considering the league we are in, I remember the same league many years ago, where we pulled in crowds of 2,000 !

"Some" people have boycotted RM, but not enough to warrant it being called a boycott !

I didnt say there was a widespread boycott. I said that boycotting on a large number would hurt Martin.

Sorry WESTY_SUFC, I misunderstood. However, I still stand by the point of 80% of football fans only being swayed by results/performances on the pitch and this is true the length of the country.

Sorry. It seemed like a good idea at the time.

We need to have this second pilot lined up, we need to check that he actually is what he says he is and has the capabilities of actually flying the plane.

At the moment, I don't see anyone lined up.

What about the lead singer of Iron Maiden? Bruce wassisface... He is a qualified pilot. I will email him and ask if he's interested.

one rule when it comes to gambling is only gamble what you can afford to.

If a manager fails he gets blamed. Ron failed in a drastic fashion so should accept blame. The fact the man still thinks he is in the right tells a lot about what sort of person he is!!!!

Would have to disagree with that comment, especially when it comes to football.

People that have gambled and failed include many many more clubs than just us, Hull, Portsmouth, Bradford, Watford, Leeds etc - it is the nature of the beast, expectations in football, especially fans expectations always are way and beyond the means of any club.

Football Clubs are pressed to achieve one prize in this country, namely the Premiership and when you get the chance, most Clubs try and 'gamble' for it, notwithstanding they can never afford what they are gambling with !

I actually agree. But what happens if/when the plane reaches the level where it is irreversible, and nothing can save it. You're moments from death, do you really want to discuss credentials with someone who may, or may not be able to save you?

It depends who's saying that nothing can save it.

The passengers can't see the instruments and only have sideways vision from the plane's windows. They can't see what's coming. They're panicking.

The pilot is in control behind a locked cabin door and is telling everyone not to panic as it's under control.

The plane appears to be flying level but with only one engine left. We are not far from touchdown and only the pilot knows how far away that is. It is touch and go whether the engine lasts that long.

I'm with the pilot until I either see the engine fail or he says "That's it, we're gonna crash". Another different pilot wouldn't have been able to save us anyway.

So in the meantime settle down, order a whisky and coke from the trolley dolley and hope you won't get charged to use the loo.

I agree that we are certainly not the only ones but the fact remains it should not be done.

Problem i have is that while a host of false promisses were made and we were nearly wound up the chairman accepts no responsibility whatsoever. The gamble was his decision, he must be respionsible for his failiure!!

And I think you'll find he has been ever since. He's the one who has bankrolled us - not in the way everyone would have liked maybe, but we are still going, we have fended off every court case going and we have not gone into administration.

He has been the one negotiating about everything and ensuing our short term survival.

In what way has he shirked responsibility?

Purely so his Fossetts Farm obsession can be completed so he can claw back the money he has lost.

I spoke to him personally and he denied to take blame for any of what was happening at the time.....all HMRC's & Tilsons & players fault. Thats about as good a proof as you can possibly get!!! he didnt even admit that any of what has been done was a gamble.

At the end of the day a football club is a business, there are few chairmen who view it otherwise and they all want to lose as little as possible, another chairman would not decide to lose millions just to keep some fans happy, they would all do that, and those that wouldn't probably would have put us in administration, FF was the only reason we got let off originally wasn't it?
