All this talk on here does not hurt Ron Martin. I wanted this to be done once Tilly got sacked but anyone want to protest at the next home game? I dont care if anyone wants to tell me what it will or won\'t do. I am not happy sitting here doing nothing while my club gets taken to the wall by that pr*ck!

i had a conversation with tommytwoholes recently about this. i said i'm just sick and tired of the 'ron out' chants and moaners on here because it doesn't do anything. actions speak louder.

problem is it seems we are happy to moan but do nothing else. the easy excuse is to say it will effect the players on pitch. being honest thats the least of our problems considering i do not believe we are out of the ****. maybe we are for a year but not for good imo.

yes we have a new manager we have a few new players and that seems to have made a few people happy but you've got to look at the bigger picture.

i was told yesterday brush was paid a cheque recently that BOUNCED. thats a joke!! There's no way our money troubles are over.

i'm shocked that we have let ron get away with as much as we have. he's had it so easy. what gets me is it only seems the younger support care. all the protests etc have mainly been young people. wheres everyone else???????

sure we're no leeds or liverpool but we still support our club. i just wish people could be bothered to do something.

that is all

It's nothing to do with being bothered or not. It's about weighing up the pros and cons and deciding that our best course of action is to sit tight and hope it all works out alright in the end.

If you or anyone else wants to protest then fair play to you. It may make you feel better, it may even achieve something positive. That is your choice. If I or anyone else feels that protesting is counter-productive then that's my or our choice.

lets be 100% honest though, it is the case some people simply cannot be bothered. i honestly and firmly believe this.

i have no experience in protesting or anything like that so i'm not the best person to start telling people what to do, but look at liverpool they got what they wanted. maybe we need to get some advice from them.

i don't believe for a second we will be building any new stadium anytime soon so what happens to us?

I don't believe that we will either. I've never thought that the stadium would happen. But I don't see where we go without Ron Martin either, as he owns everything. Right now I think we've got a slim chance of survival with Ron Martin and practically none without him so I reluctantly would prefer to stick.

The Liverpool situation was different because RBS essentially owned the lot and because Liverpool were ticking along ok until the Americans got involved. We're not Liverpool.

Why all the threads after a defeat, yep a poor defeat at that. Forum seemed quiet when we won 3 and drew 1 the previous 4 games !!

Also, would this thread have happened had we won on Saturday?

Good point. I think most of us would still be spraying champagne about, letting off fireworks and firing AK47s into the air.

I didn't post anything negative after winning those games because I knew I would be shouted down. It seems you can only drum up support without getting told to "do one" or "stop being negative" when the team are losing.

I have not been impressed one bit by the current side, or even the manager for that matter. But the Blues are my love, and I will continue to support them no matter how hopeless a crusade PS is leading.

You are indeed correct, but I suspect your bigger picture is rather smaller than mine. My bigger picture takes into account the fact that RM owns pretty much everything, and however bad everything seems to be at the moment, he's our only chance.

Until you can be 100% sure that is true and not rumour, you can't really use it to beat up RM, can you?

By that admission though, If the worst case scenario happened, and we went to the wall through Martin's shenanigans, would you feel guilty for doing nothing?

Maybe it's only the young who want to protest as us others are used to this type of thing with Jobson and Barry Fry for instance, Personally I think losing Fry was a bigger loss than losing Tilly. But that isn't relevent now.

So if Ron Martin went what / who would replace him? It's pointless forcing someone out with no plan of what follows. I my opinion Ron's biggest mistake was believing Tilly and the team would keep us in the Championship and he bet the farm. Then the financial crisis hit and believe it or not Football clubs were not exempt. I'm sure we have all heard of firm's going to the wall or having to lay staf off. Ron Martin was hit by this as well. I know from personal experience that banks called on Monday and wanted all loans repaid by Thursday or legal procedures would start, that is the harsh reality not that RM didn't like Tilly or didn't want to pay the players. If he didn't care about this club he could have cashed in then Like him or not he has done well to keep this club in business. I don't agree with all he has done but it seems on this site you have to be a Ron hater or a Ron lover how about some shades of grey? Surely enough is enough with this everything that went well was Tilson and everything that went bad was Ron Martin. All the good signings were Tillys all the bad ones were forced on him by Jennings or Martin - utter tosh.

I also think the players let Tilly down. Even if they hadn't been paid self pride should have kicked in when they crossed that line. Also if they were all looking to leave why not play like their life depnds on it as each game was an advert for their services, but maybe they weren't good enough to keep us up regardless of payments or not? We'll never know.

Be careful what you wish for

I heard the same story about the bouncy bouncy cheques from 2 separate and reliable sources, so I'm inclined to believe this latest story is actually only the tip of the iceberg with regards to current cashflow problems...

Fry's departure was the second loss of a manager that really affected me (Webby's fallout with Jobbo being the first) but it hid me the hardest. We were really going places and, I beleive, could have got to the PL with that management team and set of players. There has never been as much desire for me to protest about the mismanagement of SUFC than in the past 5/6 months though.

However, your comment about Tilson deals = good, forced signings = bad is so far from the truth is honestly laughable. Look at the comments regarding how T&B interviewed at Lincoln with their numerous contacts being mentioned on various occasions. I was given, in confidence, a list of players that T&B wished to sign over the course of time but were disrupted/prevented from taking further thanks to the chairman and "advisor" - certainly a lot more exciting and talented players than a certain Scotsman can trawl up anyway...

It's a shame people weren't "careful what they wished for" when the grumblings against ST started. Look at the mess we're in now...
