Leon Clarke's ours if we want him!

I get the impression by this thread that some people need to get out a bit more.

I thought the crux of the original posting was that Tilly and Ron should be commended to have already agreed a fee should the loan-with-view-to-permanent-transfer come to fruition.

Yet it's taken oh soooooooooo seriously, analysis of stats, assessment of one game, blah, blah, blah. Whilst conveniently missing the whole point of the thread itself.

Well done to the management of Southend United on this occasion. And lighten up, it's a sunny day today, the pubs are open, and women are wearing skimpy tops in the High Street and seafront. Laters.

I wouldn't want to see us lose Gower as I'm firmly of the opinion that he's the best player in the squad, but I've just got a feeling with Leon Clarke that Tilly has struck upon something a little bit special. I'm pretty concerned about how poorly Sheffield Wednesday are doing too.

Wednesday lost again I bet they re call him or won't let him go in January as they will be struggling don't mean to be pessimistic but I just don't want him to go back. :D

I am worried about the situation, the signs are that Clarke could be what we need(a goal scoring striker) Sheff Wed are having a bad time of it.......what if they recall leon who is firing on all cylinders

I was chanting for Wednesday to win to stop this situation. I hope they start winning cause I really can see it happening.

Say the weds manager gets the boot, the new gaffer may come in and get leon back to assess his squad

Exactly Lee not what we want mate. All we can hope is the chairman keeps his faith and results pick up for them.

If I understood him correctly on BBC Essex earlier today, Tilly said that there is aa clause in Leon's loan contract that gives us the option to buy him at a price that has already been agreed (something that has been posted on other SZ threads). If this is the case does this mean that the deal is done if we decide to progress it and that Wednesday have, in effect, placed Leon Clarke's future in SUFC's hands? If this is the case, presumably they could recall him but not change his long-term future if we decide we want to buy him. Or is this all wishful thinking on my part?

That sounds about right to me.

Ok two games i know but if that was likely to happen i would be making my offer now and getting it over and done with. We watched Lipstick once against witham and shelled out 50k, we've watched Leon for months before and seen him in this league and he's scored 2 goals already, surely paying 150k now is a lesser gamble than the lipstick signing.

Apparently we have agreed a fee mate, we can't sign him now.

As I have said before, maybe Leon Clarke wants to be here and could ask for a transfer.

Try to be a bit optimistic!

So whats to say that if Sheff Wed want to recall him, they can? In FM (yes I know, just a game, but probably quite realistic on this part) you have to have a clause for recall, it's not automatic and it's not something that has to be in there. Sheff Wed might not have one for Clarke.
