Left At Half Time - 1st Time in 37 years

I don't personally believe the management are strong enough or hard enough in times of difficulty. This is the first time they've had times of trouble and they don't seem to know what to do or where to turn.

ps. Where we have come from is totally irrelevant, it is also a completely mute argument and has NOTHING to do with the situation we find ourselves in at present
I disagree 100% with this comment.
Where we have come from has EVERYTHING to do with where we are. Just compare us to Leeds and where both clubs were 5 years ago?
Leeds were playing in the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE and were on course to be a major English club.
We were propping up LEAGUE 2 with no hope of going anywhere.
Now both clubs are struggling in the CHAMPIONSHIP. I would much rather be a Southend fan having seen them move up 2 leagues and then get relegated than be a Leeds fan and see the club fall apart.
I really don't understand how you can say the past is irrelevant...

This is quite an amusing thread for a number of reasons, Firstly I do not believe the players dont care, I didnt see players that dont care out there today, we only have to go back a few seasons to see players that didnt care.
Secondly in terms of management Tilly is young I not saying he faultless but we owe him a hell of a lot, for keeping us out of the conference, Two cup finals and two promotion he has more than earnt our support. Yes he has made a couple of bad signings and not always made great decisions but surely this season could be a great experience for him and make him a better manager in the long run. And thirdly we are southend in my twenty odd years we been relegated a few times been promoted a few times its all part of supporting a club like ours, it may not always be good but it never boring and maybe just maybe there could be another crazy twist just like monday

Then you must of had your fingers in your ears, because I heard the booing, especially at the half time whistle.

That booing at 1/2 time was for the officials MK you total PLANK . For the Lino who did an impression of Tommy the deaf dumb and blind kid! and didnt see the WHOLE ball over the line for a throw in to us in the build up to their first and for the ref who 2 mins before 1/2 time didnt book their player for delib hand ball although he gave us a freekick , they should have been down to ten men !!!. All of this of course is lost in the context of being in your armchair .

Surely it's a bit foolish to try and kid ourselves into thinking that these decisions would have changed the context of the match? I have a go at refs as much as anybody else but we didn't lose because of those refereeing decisions. We lost on the balance of the 90 minutes of play and had every opportunity to get ourselves back into the game. Instead, we didn't and conceeded two more and didn't look as though we could hit a barn door if we were there all day.

Indeed. The ball over the line decision was a shocker, but Champinship professionals should know to play to the whistle. We were all tought that at school, never mind this level...

If that decision had gone the other way, if we had scored first, if if if...

Sadly it didnt and we didnt. Today is gone, lets try for 3 points at Plymouth and just see what happens. We really cant do anything other than that - but we must still support the team.

Ashamed to say that I left today at half time for the first time ever - I always stay to the end no matter what the score.

We are an average side capable of good performances - if we can't get the basics right then this is why we lose so easily to poor sides.

Darryl has retreated in to his shell and stopped collected high balls - the corner that they scored direct from should never have been a corner as Daryl should have come for the original cross - to rub salt in to the wounds it's a West Ham loanee who scores!! So Tilly, no more bull about not being able to get players in on loan - I'm sure Reid would have come to Southend on loan if offerred the chance rather than South Yorkshire!!

I'm sorry Tilly, who deservedly take the plaudits when we get promoted and rightly so. Now you desrve the criticism for failing to provide the again magnificent support with a Team worthy of the support and capable of staying in the Championship.

Sorry this is negative, and yes I'll be back for Luton and next season for whatever that will bring - but this afternoon I am really fed up....

Leaving at half time ain't good mate! You should have at least made an excuse of having a bowel reaction to an SUFC pie!!
