Kacper Lopata

This Lopata effect will no doubt affect our transfer business this summer.
What half decent player will want to come to us and not get paid.
All the hard work Stan & Co did building up our credibility has now been flushed down the ****ter .
Yeah the only way is new owners with adequate financing, who can restore the credibility of the club and set about the task of getting the club back up the leagues.

Why get so bitter...he was our best player with the most potential. Ron has sh it on one too many but this bloke is the only one to make a stand because he knows that he is better than this!

I’m not bitter at all. I will follow his career with interest - as I have done with all players who have left the club in the last 60 years. I don’t wish him any ill will just merely stating that being the best of a slightly better than average set of non league players doesn’t make him Leon Cort or John Egan.

Out of interest…does this open up the club to any issues with regards to Sheffield United? Did we owe them any money or have a sell on clause or any add ons and how does us breaching the players contract impact on things like that?
Believe there is still money owed to some other clubs which is probably partly why the embargo hasn't been lifted

That why I was angry at Lopata for what he did, it’s really unsettled the team on the pitch.
If lopata had left it to today to attend the club\ground (rather than attend on match day) , he could have also been deemed to break the contract. Did what he had to do to finalise his action.

Yes there is a conundrum....make it too easy for him to leave and he could assist a rival fighting for a play off spot. Definitely not in our interests.

When he unexpectedly turned up at Southend he was quoted as effusively thanking the chairman for going out of his way to make it all happen.

In the old days that was football speak for saying 'I demanded a big signing on fee' and/or 'I wanted to be on higher wages than everyone else'

To have persuaded him to sign Ron probably had to dig deep in his pocket at a time when money was short and there were many other competing demands.

As we will not be receiving any kind of fee when he leaves this may be a very poor ROI for Ron.

I am not a vindictive person but in the circumstances if I had stumped up the extras to bring him to the Blues I would not be falling over myself to make it easy for him to play elsewhere.

Of course we do not want keep a player who does not want to be at the Club but still less do we want help out any of our rivals.

What a bizarre statement the club has made. Said the wouldn't comment further so why comment at all?
KL posted that he was no longer a southend player. The echo article seems to suggest he is?

Is that he no longer has a contract with us but we hold his registration - sort of similar to the Elvis situation
