Again in fairness to Chris Phillips, it IS one of the juiciest stories to come out for a while. We had one player kicking off after a match, another player confronting the opposition in the tunnel, and a player kicking off in training (and being kicked out of the club?). It might just be an expected part of football behind the scenes these days, just highlighting the passion we now have the players, etc, but I'd still say the revelations qualify as quite "juicy".

For the record, I hadn't heard about any of it before the story (or CP's eluding to it).

Hardly CP's fault that, in this day and age, a really juicy football story usually only involves dogging, roasting, dog-roasting, drink driving, etc.

Granty piece much ado about nothing- park that
Mohsni will be going nowhere- but will have to calm down. Club appears to have addressed it (again). He will be perservered with.
N'Diaye however will not be- if he goes back to Palace the money will be used to bring in probably another winger (don't fall over if its a certain Rohan Ricketts having drastically reduced his views on a fair wage making it worth a punt....he doesn't come and sit in the directors box to watch a Southend game because he's bored and got nothing else to do. We might have said look we are at the wage cap but if we get someone out and you drop your demands there might be something).

i think taking Ramadan into account, we are more likely to see Bil on Tuesday night games than Saturdays. Speaking to my Muslim work collegue, fast breaks at 8.27pm tonight (and gets earlier as the days get shorter), so tomorrow for example, he would be allowed to fully fluid up etc at half time, making it more likely he would have the energy to complete the game.

Glad to see my fans on here again!
Apologies if my story didn't meet your expectations but I would've thought that one of the team's best players losing his cool and causing a huge bust up was of interest, especially as it means his future at the club is now being considered.
As well as that, another player looks set to leave because of a training ground bust up and there was a third incident after the Accrington game.
All of these events took place in the space of five days.
I thought that made for a juicy story but sorry if you disagree.

Agree, a story that could damage a club is always "juicy". Surprised that some don't think it is as this could damage our current momentum on the pitch.

I asked Sturrock a question about both of these points at the recent Q&A.

He was quite clear that Mohsni needs to change this aspect of his game or he becomes a liability. If he can't turn it around, then there will come a time when he'll be moved on as a result. Remember that this response came after the Orient game and any shenanigans around it.

If Sturrock is telling the truth, then the Rohan Ricketts deal is not about money. You could read into his attendance that he wants to come here, but Sturrock's view is that he needs to prove a level of fitness before it even becomes a consideration. My take was that, as this stand right now, we don't want him.

I notice that in the echo article it states that "The incidents are believed to have frustrated manager Paul Sturrock and his assistant Graham Coughlan who, according to a source close to the club, are keen to stamp this kind of behaviour out"

Can I point out that if the club's approach to stamping out a player's lack of emotional control is fines and punishments that in general (as I allude to in my post http://www.shrimperzone.com/vb/showthread.php?67692-Can-a-footballer-learn-to-control-anger ) such apparent rationale approaches to such issues generally won't work and indeed can make matters worse. Basically those who can't control their anger need help (and need to develop a new skill set) not punishment. We know that player coaching from someone that understands football can help a player with their football skills - well coaching from someone that understands emotions and the brain can actually help a player with their emotional skills.

All 3 are stories worth writing about absolutely, after the build up I was quite relieved that the stories weren't worse.

I dont think anyone is aware if there have been fines or punishments for these indiscretions. In fact Sturrock said at the forum that Mohsni does need help. Whether we have the ability within the club to give the right help is another matter.
