John Terry and the 'unacceptability of racism'

It's getting ridiculous.

The trial has now led to calls for changes on the rules on foul and abusive language with the Culture, Media and Sport Secretary getting involved, a Mr Jeremy Hunt. Seriously mate, did you learn nothing in school - step away.

He can afford to be.

Its a decent gamble to take hiring a top Lawyer as if he gets you off you don't have to pay for his services us taxpayers do , so if you truely believe you are innocent its worth doing , on the down side yes you may have to pay if you lose but im guessing that would of been the least of his worries as his dwindling reputation would of been at a low where he probably could not mend it no matter how many more trophies he wins .

so in the whole of things, Ashley Cole is the only person to come out of this with any dignity, who'd have seen that coming!

I see Frimpong is now in trouble for calling Spurs fans 'Yids'

Now, the whole 'yid' thing is very annoying if you ask me. Spurs fans call themselves it and they don't seem to get in trouble for it. It is not in the same class as black persons using the N-word amoungst themselves, as most Spurs fans are not actually Jewish, and so either they should also be in trouble for using the word, or opposing fans should not be faced with ejection. I distinctly remember when we went to WHL twice in a season, on the back of the chairs it said 'Anti-Sematic chants will not be tolorated', whilst the Spurs fans sung "YID ARMY" for pretty much the whole game... double standards?

Less double-standards and more the reality of the fact that there's not much they can do about 30,000 people singing it. It's like them saying that everyone has to sit down at games. They have to be seen to be doing something.

Spurs fans tend to embrace the 'Yid' thing, but from what I gather it doesn't sit easy with some of them.

There was an intersting programme on BBC3 last night presented by Clarke Carlisle. Certainly the English game has come along way (you should hear the chants of some polish fans to their local rivals) but there is still some way to go.

As football is such a big part of life in England and the PL attracts billions in income, I think it is right that it comes under scurtiny.

'Yid army' is a massive chant at white Hart Lane. They just don't want to have to pay to sing it

Apparently the police are now investigating this. Not Rio's tweet, but the person who originally tweeted it as some members of the public complained. Talk about waste of time!

I don't even get it .. something about being brown on the outside and white inside maybe
