Breaking News Jeacock appeal successful

So she was either intimidated by the Yeovil players into changing her mind, or she didn’t know the correct ruling. Either way she needs to be called out for this, perhaps a three game ban for her.
Oh and that is not being mysogonistic, in fact now we know the outcome, I would say anyone defending her is showing discrimination.
Those lost points at the end of the season could be crucial.
It would be to ban her when no action is taken against some of her male counterparts who are not a lot better (if at all).

That played a part in appeal evidence too, I think. Was outrageous. She didn't book any Yeovil players for surrounding her either. Madness.

I think it's a simple case of, by the letter of the law, Jeacock didn't deny an obvious goalscoring opportunity, so it should have been a yellow rather than a red.

Maher's was for 2 yellows, so that can't be appealed.
I never saw the ref give Maher a second yellow, from my view she walked towards him pulled out a red

Now this is interesting. Was going to be a yellow before being influenced by players, that has to be sackable?!?

Not to mention surrounding the ref is a bookable offence
If this is true it’s not good at all. Every manager and players would know if you get in her face she can be influenced. You don’t really want to be there and she will need to be quite firm in the next few games and if she gets surrounded dish out the bookings and don’t change the decision.

She didn’t show Maher a second yellow, rather a straight red. Not sure whether that’s the correct behaviour for a manager rather than a player.

Glad the decision was overturned, one tiny bit of poetic justice after the officials s**tshow.

There were so many things wrong with the officials, starting with the 4th official, who was a complete *** (complete the rude words yourselves...).

The ref being a woman was absolutely not the issue. I was watching her, and 4th official, and he did not shut up right from the start. I stand by my thoughts at the time, he was calling the shots, and her biggest issue was not telling him to butt out in the first minute of the game. Given her 'hesitations' and several runs over to the touchline, it was clear he had far too much sway, and he likely was the "more experienced' official on the day. I wonder if she would have fared better without the earpiece?

I dont think the poor woman stood a chance, and it does not help the cause for getting overall better standards of refereeing into football.

To me, a successful appeal stinks, because what do you actually gain? Absolutely nothing except an extra player to pick for the next game. You get no benefit except a “warm glow” for knowing that the official was wrong all along. I don’t care if the ref was male, female, gay, black, brown or white. If we get no tangible reward for their ****-up (due to ignorance about the rules or successful intimidation), then they have to be punished.

I can tell you one thing she will have got little to no help from with the decision from the assistant in front of the Easts who was covering that half of the pitch. He didn’t get into a run all match and jogged along as if he had piles :-)

He should of seen all the covering players if he’d been up with play- maybe he did and that led to the initial yellow.

I don’t suppose a report goes with the decision to explain the thought process- so we will never no and I guess move on

This is really is a new era.

I usually expect to hear the ban has been extended for frivolous appeals rather than has been successful.

Was Garry Richards the last red card we had successfully overturned?

Of course the ban doesn’t matter nearly as much as the lost points and they don’t give us any points for what they deem to be a bad decision from the referee nor do they refund spectators who had to endure a dire hour once it was 10 v 11.

Maher definitely got a yellow, then later a straight red
He I suspect will appeal it. Putting your arms up in appeal even if it is a new rule brought in this week just in the NL surely can’t be a straight red.

She may claim it was a second yellow and she got the yellow out so quick that no-one saw, or forgot to get yellow out first in order to save time, more likely they will make a way of downgrading the red to a second yellow and give the same ban.

I’m sure it’s an appeal the league could do without having to read as it will give them no joy at all…

She needs demoting, along with the 4th official. I’d say the same if it were a man with such a dreadful performance, before the sexist police come at me. In fact there’s several that are deserving, that we’ve seen in this godforsaken league.
