January Transfer Window Thread 2020

I think Tom Hopper could be a target for Lincoln as they are desperate for a striker and he has strong links to the area including a property in the city.

Makes sense, & Donnie as well, as they are only an hr or so from Lincoln as well. Def wont be here next season ( shame ), as i believe he has a 'get out' clause in his contract, when ( not if ) we go down?.

Vultures circling ready to pick the best bits off the carcass of our club.
Anyway any chance of a sponsorship deal with Fleetwood mac Rigsby?

Think i'll stick to rumours bur never little lies.

Some would prefer Elvis or even Englebert Humperdinck

Charlton and Hopper would make sense as Lyle Taylor has refused to sign a new contract. They have decided they will sell him. Might be putting 2+2 together and getting 7.

A bit of Karma there. He ran his contract down denying Wimbledon a nice transfer fee, and Charlton got him for nothing, but paid him high wages apparently. Now he's trying to do the same with Charlton. Just another greedy footballer.

Dodged a bullet there as we were in for him at the same time as Charlton.

I’d take the ‘promoted as champions then decent start in the Championship’ bullet any day!

There’s a bit of a difference when he is in a team full of decent players. Don’t think him being with us would’ve helped us in the slightest. 1 player doesn’t make a team, even Messi would look ****e in this team.

It was more about his attitude towards clubs.

I
Ridgewell and Milligan both 7 figure bids I've heard.
I would personally get in my car now from Kent, drive to Roots Hall and dump Milligan and Ridgewell off wherever they want. As I can fit 5 in my car I would stick Kiernan, Ralph and Hyam in as well and Shaughnessy can go in the boot....6 complete wasters that need to all go.

You have called for every player in our squad to be sacked.......Loyalty is a two way street. I would have thought from your background you would understand that.

Don’t twist my words, I’ve said we should have a full clear out. Doesn’t mean I’m calling for them to be sacked. That is my opinion and my background isn’t a professional footballer. You just cannot compare them, they’re playing on a football pitch not relying on others in situations with your life. You’re clutching at straws there riggers.

How ever you word it, you want players to sign a two year contract move to the area and perhaps move families and schools etc. Then if they are up to your standards they should sign another contract even if they have abetter option elsewhere.

However, even if they are a good player and very professional. If the team don't do well, you want them cleared out (what ever that means)...Even halfway through a season. Will you pay the 6 months rent they will owe etc.?.....Even if the ir injured you want the same?

All lower league clubs sign most of their players when they are out of contract.....Saves us a fortune in transfers and fees and part of the modern game.

So why you feel the need to slag Lyle Taylor? We would have been happy to sign him that way....the same way we did with Cox or Hopper.

If Charlton want to keep him they could.

Okay, I understand the anger and frustration.
I have not been a witness to anything other than the on field disaster and disappointment of Mr Bond's tenure however I doubt any of those mentioned are happy with it: AND have stories to tell, some of which can be guessed at. They didn't become poor players just by joining US.
In a cake making analogy we have some eggs, some flour, some butter, some sugar BUT in the wrong quantities and some has passed its shelf life with a chef who only prepares starters not a Baker, (under Bond) .
And now Sol has to try and make something from that lot!

This isn't a "normal" situation, we are actually dying as a club and some brutal decisions need to be made. Loyalty to this bunch of perennial under-performers should not be top of our list at the moment in my opinion. Pay them off, ship them out, get rid....it really matters not.

I'd actually love to hear Ridgewell and Milligan's side of it, what they were promised .. how things were sold to them. It's the easiest thing in the world to sling mud and abuse at professional footballers without knowing the full story. Now I don't agree that either of them should've been signed, but they were offered contracts so who is at fault?

Not so much Milligan who I'm sure has given his best and come up short like all the others but in Ridgewell's case I would love to know what the hell happened.
