Did Hunt's time at Reading cross over with Mooney's?

Was at Ipswich at the same time as Wordsworth.

Think he'd be a super signing.

I hope you are right, BoyWonder2. Noel Hunt has not been prolific in recent years, could be very expensive, and will be 33 in December. But presumably Phil Brown and Bob Shaw have done their homework on Hunt.

Your never going to get a striker in form on a free transfer, most strikers on free either want to leave for better money or not playing enough! If we want a prolific striker let's open up cheque book and get Reuben Reid

Just seen the echo it is hunt and he seems keen on a move to us but also has a lot of interest from elsewhere, brown seems to think we are in a good position as hunts agent set up our trip to Spain and has been out there with the team so talks have taken place

If you look at the Goats record at Reading before he signed for us it was 12 goals in his previous 49 appearances... he then got 11 in 33 for us... Hunts record after Reading is 4 from 35. I'd be happy with this signing.

I'm sure his goals to game ratio would be good in League 1

UTB

Bit disappointed if I'm honest. If we're only going to sign another two strikers, I'd prefer Pygott along with a striker with pace. I don't think Hunt 's injury or disciplinary record are the best either.

Hunt might not have pace but is a very busy player and not one ud enjoy to play against, would be a good signing hopefully we will ditch piggot not sure of the comments he made after play off final sit right

No. Regardless of what he said, its still thanks to him that we're in League One (see GIF below in-case you'd forgotten). I'd happily welcome him back

Staggered by people's comments regarding hunt. He would be an excellent signing, experience, know how and as others have said he is a busy player. Would be great to sign someone who scored 20 goals last season, but they are very hard to find. This type of quality player is exactly what we need to go with a young and inexperienced side. Happily have piggott back as well, think a permanent move here would work well for him.

Lots on here seem to think that Joseph David Wozencroft Pigott is a done deal. It certainly looks as if his Charlton days are numbered, but I don't think he has made that Southend connection yet. I would love to see him back, but I believe he thinks he can still get a shot at another Championship club. We shall see, and I would love to be proved wrong. On the Hunt front (that scans quite well), if he signs we are going to need a pair of quick legs up front to do the work for Hunt and Mooney I think, otherwise our wingers will be down the flanks before our strikers are in the box, not good.

Agent lomas, he disrespected our club!! Just because he scored a goal it doesn't mean he deserves a contract to me he doesn't want to play for us!!

No he didn't, he was loyal in his comments to the club who hold his registration and to its fans! I would certainly welcome him back.

I think your taking his comments a bit too seriously. Don't worry as soon as he signs there will be a statement from him saying this is the place he wants to be and can't wait for the season to start (just like every other signing for every club).

This is the same Noel Hunt who has played his entire career in the Championship or higher right?

The same Noel Hunt who has scored goals in the Premier league and averaged 1 in 3 at Reading?

The same Noel Hunt who played for Championship Leeds and was subsequently bought by Ipswich of the Championship after impressing on loan last season?

The same Noel Hunt who scored a few in the Championship season just gone?

Nope, not good enough.

If PB pulls this off I will buy my own humble pie and eat it right in front of him. That would be quite a signing for a newly promoted side
