Any of that is possible, but it sounds a bit convoluted if I'm honest. I think he will come to us now and we will get one, possibly two seasons out of him. We will also be tight on dosh as his wages will be steep, but hopefully worth it.

It's a significant indicator that something could be afoot, as Gilberto's now the club's third Designated Player, and each MLS club is only allowed three and they've had to re-manage their budget under the MLS salary cap to bring him in. Given they've now got six forwards on their books (two of which are designated players), without moving one or two out I'd say it's highly unlikely they're still in for Hunt.

Gilberto was their back-up after Drogba went to Montreal instead of them. Hunt would've only ever been the back-up's back-up.
