****ing Bull****!

who you calling son, you obviously dont know a good player either!!!

Granted he is a good player NOW, but when he was rightly shown the door, he wasn't anything special. He was when he broke through, but then didn't progress. If anything he went backwards.

I've no disagreement that we're good going forward... The midfield, which i thought to be the problem area in years gone by, Is the strongest i've seen it and we can rely on it. We have all the elements of a good side, it's just baffling substitutions and a lack of finesse at the back at the moment is costing us.

We've got a game midweek against a lesser side to test a few options, and then a winnable game on saturday against Gillingham. However, if nothings changed then thats when i doubt Tilson's managerial skills and wonder whether we are better off looking elsewhere while there are a few skilled managers around... i.e. Martin Allen (As much of a detestable tosser he is)

Kightly had bags of talent but lacked a bit of bulk he should have been sent on loan for a year long season to grays not shown the door. When Kightly got the ball a buzz went through the crowd who does that now Harrold dont think so and yes some of us did protest at the time he was kicked out.

How many did he start though and how many was he sub only given 5 mins?

at last a fking post that comes from my way of thinking, come on Martin lets hear what you have to say about all this ****, charlie big bollox its about time you gave us all an explination into why your so intent on seeing everything good about he club collapse around you

Seems to me that Tilly can't bring out the best in players then..Clearly Kightly had it in him as he is now proving, it's maybe that Tilly just couldn't get the lad going...Motivation maybe. Eastwood being the exception as he was something special, all our players are fairly mediocre, but is that more about Tillys management skills. Billy never got a look in, but played well at Bradford on loan last year!!

I reckon everyone on here could do a better job than Tilly. No really, you all seem to be such experts.

As for subs. hindsight is a wonderful thing. I agree to an extent, maybe Tilly should bring subs on earlier, but it's all about risk. Would anyone moan if he brought on a sub after 85 minutes and said sub won us the game? No. But what if said sub came on after 65 and got hounded for a simple miss (Billy Painter anyone) or came on after 65 and conceded a goal.

.

It makes you wonder though, when all around me are suggesting we need to bring on richards to counter the obvious ariel threat of their substitute and lo and behold, within a few minutes he scores a header!

That makes it foresight in my book...not hindsight!

talking about signing players, if u had an interview with tilson would you really want to sign??? just listenin to him on the radio he cant get his words out and seems really lacking in confidence so why would you want to sign for a team with a manager that seems to have no real confidence about where his team is going?

What we need is to realise that we need a tall centre Half and a goalkeeper who doesn't have his F**king boots stapled to the goal line I am afraid that we have not learnt from last season goal after goal after goal headed in from inside the 6 yard box. If you watched the Watford goalkeeper on Tuesday anything inside that area was his. When was the last time you saw Darryl do that....great shot stopper but how many of those stops are created because of his inability to come off his line.

Really pi**ed off that should have been 3 points today...

Time to drop Darryll and split up Clarke and Barrat you can only play one or the other!

Spot on.

In some ways this defeat maybe the best thing that happens to us this season. All 3 goals came from high balls Flahavan, Barrett and Clarke were yet again unable to deal with. Its a bitter medicine, but it should serve us well in the long term.

Tuesday night against Dagenham gives Tilly the ideal opportunity to play our strongest back-line - the 4 who lined up and kept a clean sheet against Watford, plus Collis in goal.

I think Tilsons team selection and tactics today are indefensible although some will come on here and try. First mistake was going with clarke and Barrett at the back they are both too short to defend free kicks and corners with a short goal keeper behind them one of them has to make way for a taller centre half. Second mistake was not sorting out the right hand side of the pitch when Brighton put subs on to expose our lack of width on that side of the pitch and left Gilbert with 3 players running at him. Third mistake was allowing mark gower to play the second half of the match when he was struggling and only taking him off in the dying minutes. Naive or stupid one or the other and Im afraid Tilsons stubboness to make changes when things are going wrong is costing us big time. Last point once again the mid-fielders scored the worse thing that could have happened was Harrold and Macdonald scoring against watford youth team we will be stuck with them until Mr Tilson is man enough to change things. What was the row with Maher and the fans about at the end of the match

Now that's a top post. No ranting or raving; just well thought out, reasoned analysis.

I just realised that it's been a month since the Brighton game and found one of these threads. It's not going to be an "I told you Tilly would get it right" post from me although I was firmly behind him at the time.

It's actually quite interesting that some of the changes that the more militant fans were making have been implemented (drop Flahavan, break the Barrett/Clarke partnership). Then again, the biggest gripe seemed to be that our signings were terrible and yet two of the loans combined for our winner on Saturday.

I actually think our league position is slightly higher than we might expect later because we've been boosted by games against poor team or underperforming teams and have still been winning by the odd goal. I still think we have problems with substitutions and lack a dominating presence at the back but I still think if we are to maximise our chances of promotion this season, it has to be Tilson at the helm.

To be fair though, would he have become half the player he is now if he hadn't of been dropped, the awnser in my mind is no. I mean Eastwood is a prime example of this when he got dropped by West Ham went to Grays and kick started his career.

I also agree with sufcintheprem (if thats your real name)... Tilly has hopefully proved many people wrong, including myself who did start to lose faith in his abilitys, what a muppet i was. I think Tilly has uncovered another Gem in Leon Clarke.
