****ing Bull****!

We seem to be becoming a club that plucks youngsters from non-league clubs only to thrown them out onto the scrapheap when it's determined that they are not good enough.

Again I'm not being rude but could you back that up a bit? The only player I can think of that that has happened to under Tilson is Mitchell Cole...are there any more?

cheers

I wonder if we will ever see Zoltan play or if he just one of these players that just vanishes from our squad list atr the end of the season?

I was just wondering the same thing actually. I hope he does play because he was looking quite promising from what I have seen of him during the Vitesse Arnhem game and does appear to use his height to good effect in commanding the defence.

Seems to me that nothing has changed from last year except that we are playing at a crappier level i.e. we are scoring enough goals to win matches but we r continuing to ship way 2 many goals at the other end. I think tilly might need to shake it up a bit next week and put in liptak, francis and collis 4 wilson, gilbert and flavs with barratt playing at leftback

and he let kightly go, bad judgement, he was a quality player just needed to build up a bit, but rather than a years loan somewhere, NO LETS GET RID TILLY STYLE!!!!!!!!!!

No one moaned at the time he was released, Kightly would never have played for England Under 21's the other week if we didn't release him!

Think I'd play Hunt if he's available because I have been quite impressed by him recently.

Hmm ... I'm not getting my point across very well today! ;)

I'm not saying that it's happened. What I'm trying to suggest is that the club may well not be in the financial position to look anywhere else but outside of the Football League; it simply might not have any choice and subsequently the management are showing signs of not doing so well in identifying the sort of quality in those regions that the football club needs to maintain the momentum of success. I want to see the club take a risk and start looking for quality players currently playing Championship or League One level who might be unsettled enough to fancy a change, not an unknown quality knocking about in the Ryman League.

Bentley?

Oh wait, just why was it we released him again Tilly?! :guns:

We offered Bentley a one year contract, Bentley's missus had just given birth so he took the security of a 2 year deal at Gillingham.

One of the players I spoke to last summer thought Benno would have been way out of his depth in the Championshiip so League One is probably about his level.

interesting to see what some Brighton fans made of todays game

"You looked like a very good side to be honest. If you play like you did today every week you'll make the play-offs. It was a bad result, obviously, but you should be encouraged by the quality of football you're playing. The Arsenal lad is superb.

We've got a lot of options up front and a few good strikers so even though you out played us, with Savage and Robinson coming on and running at tired legs you struggled a bit at the end and Forster proved he's a goal poacher with two strikers goals."

"Come On!!!

Southend looked a quality side - played some superb passing football.

Despite this we still created quite a few chances and went very close a number of times.

Bas Savage was bloody brilliant when he came on and turned the game.

Fantastic spirit to come back because it looked all over at 2-1.

Southend were unlucky as they played very well but Forster's a quality goal scorer and Savage a great threat these days.

We won't play (m)any side's who play as well as you did and you wont play many sides who have so many different options up front."

i'd be bloody suprised if tilly did make such a big change, probably keep things similar maybe one of the new lads up front and the in the 85 min bring on another new one and tommy black, concede and say we played well deserved more! unlucky, does that sound about right?

I reckon everyone on here could do a better job than Tilly. No really, you all seem to be such experts.

Jog on.

Hercules himself would have struggled to keep us up last season. In 2004, we struggled to stay in the football league. By 2006 we've been promoted twice, and are in the Championship, the 5th? biggest league in the world, but realistically, the club wasn't much bigger than it was in 2004. Look at Hull. They got successive promotions from the bottom tier of the football league to the equvilent of the championship, and yes, they've stayed there. But they have spent millions more than we can afford to. And while they stay in the championship, they've always been close to relegation.

Chaps and chapesses, we were victims of out own success last season. Look at colchester for example. They were in league one for ages, and then made a step up, and did well. Exactly like we did from League 2 to League one the season before.

Just because we've not had a blistering start to the season this year, everyone is getting restless and jumping on the managements back. Cast your mind back to August 2004. We didn't exactly have a blistering start to that season, but look what happened. In case you've forgotten what happened, we would have won the league had it not been for the 1-0 defeat by Yeovil in the April of 2005.

I get the impression that some people on here expect us to be at least mid table in the Championship. IMO, the truth is, for a club this size, we've been batting well above our average for the last few years, and we need to realise this. This club isn't big enough for the Championship, regardless of what some people think.

As for Tilly out. Come on, be serious. Has chopping and changing our manager ever helped us in the last 10 years? No. Would chopping and changing one of, if not our most successful manager ever help us? Probably not.

As for subs. hindsight is a wonderful thing. I agree to an extent, maybe Tilly should bring subs on earlier, but it's all about risk. Would anyone moan if he brought on a sub after 85 minutes and said sub won us the game? No. But what if said sub came on after 65 and got hounded for a simple miss (Billy Painter anyone) or came on after 65 and conceded a goal.

It's time for the supporters of this club to start supporting it. 100% No Tilson out, no moaning about new signings that we've never even heard of, let alone seen play.

United we stand. United we fall.

Is it me or do people think that Tilson is sometimes a bit loyal to players who are either not good enough or who r not playing well enough to warrant a place in the team. I mean how Black did not get into the team 2day over gower (who was poor again, i hear) i will never know and playing harrold consistantly, when it is obvious that he is not good enough (he wasnt gettin in the yeovil side) appears to just b out of loyalty than for football reasons.

your spot on mate cos tilly would never have given him that chance, i did moan but no one listened!!!!!!!!!!

Have a day off son. Kightly broke into the first team and looked a real prospect, but never moved on. He got into a comfort zone and rested on his larrels. Tilson giving him the boot was spot on!

Chadded, top post mate, glad someone is talking sense at the moment.

see what you saying, tilly lived off eastwoods form, that is a guarantee, and tilly did not want freddy anyway, its only after he scored a hat trick v swansea that he couldnt refuse or face bloodshed.
a lot of credit for freddy needs to go to mark stimson persistance, it took stimo 4 months to even get southend to look at freddy
