Ibehre-less

With us being Ibehre-less, probably for the best would this be the ideal time to try Francis Laurent upfront with his trickery and skill creating space for him and Barnard. Put Scannell on the wing and give him a chance to show what he can do. What do people reckon we should do as having Walker upfront doesn't make me confident and Freedman has gotten worse with age so it's likely his last season, best as a substitute.

Laurent's best position is on the wing. End of discussion.

Even thinking about playing him up front purely because he's tricky would be a monumental step backward.

Exactly right, Laurent does not work well up front and prefers the wing. Means he'll be up against John White as well, who might think he knows how to play him, but I hope will be proved wrong.

Might even be tempted to start Dougie, who Barney says himself, he likes alongside him, and then bring Jimmy on after the hour.

Give Walker a chance. I can't see what harm it will do. Will certainly offer more to the team than Freedman.

Agreed but purely because of a lack of options. we can't move Laurant A) because his creativity and "crazy legs" is where all our service seems to be coming from going forward. and B) he preferes to be there, put a player where he wants to be and you'll get him performing better.

I'm not a fan of Walker, he seems to me to not be strong on the ball and not clinical in his finish....... BUT I will be very happy for him to prove me wrong.

He's had plenty of time for a chance if you ask me. The fact he hasn't scored since January 09 in the game against Leyton Orient (for us) is very worrying. He offers pace yes but i'd rather bring him on late on in the game when it'd be more useful. By all means i'd love for Walker to prove me wrong but it's hard to envisage.

How many times has he played for us since then though ? He's been injured and out on loan since then aswell. He's still young and a lot to learn - I still think he'll come good.

Might as well stick mildy in the centre of midfield then if we are taking players out of there best positions.

I'd love for him to prove us wrong i really would as he has moments of brilliance [taking it past four against Leyton] but i suppose you could say that it's unfair as he's only remembered as being bad [Penalty miss against Hudersfield last year]. If he can improve his finishing then i'd say he'd be good, there's no denying he has hunger to score but he seems to be wasting chances.

Cue loads of abuse but I'd prefer Revell (I'm sure Swindon won't want to keep him) and Barnard - he might not score many but I think he's a better foil for Barney than any of the others.

Walker and Freedman have hardly set the world on fire when they've had chances and at least with Revs you'll get a forward who defends from the front and adds some height at corners, free kicks both defensively and attacking,

.......and yes I'd keep Laurent on the wing too.

I agree with that too, Revs and Barney - pre the GK debacle - could've proved to be a great combination, plus, as someone said yesterday, Revs linked well with Macca. Trouble is, much as I know Swindon are not likely to hold onto him, I can't see us either a) affording his wages or b) him wanting to come back with GK still here.

I would like to see Revell given another chance - Revell would create more chances by winning more in the air.

It's a tough one to call and whether or not Revell would want to come back and if he didn't I can't really blame him with GK's comments.

Calver or Asante. Would rather see John Stannard up front than Walker or old man Freedman. Give the youth a chance, Walker and Freedman one goal between them all season. Had plenty of chances and are simply not good enough. Lets see what these kids are made of.
Oh and I agree about Revs, hope he comes back in January.

I don't get it about Calver, there's something strange there. He was a star in pre-season, then got shipped out on loan and since returning hasn't featured in the squad at all. I liked him, and he looked quite at home with the senior pros, more so than Walker to be honest.

I dont know if he'd been injured but I found it strange when we were only naming 4 on the bench why he wasn't there

Don't think Revs will have a choice about coming back whether GK is here or not - he is still under contract to us and would hope that Jabo I'mcrap's wages would be similar to Revs

Revs and Barny up top is the best option, but only because we have **** all else to choose from. As i've said about Walker in the past, people keep saying "give the boy a chance" etc etc, but how many chances does he need? Nearly everytime he plays he is spectacularly crap. Something's definitly not right there. He has bags of potential, yet fails to use it.

As for Freedman playing - hahaha

What a lovely present for the Col U centrebacks. Imagine Old Father Time running at them, or trying his little flicks and shimmys. They'll be ****ing laughing on the pitch!!
