Mate, if you get Freddy you will be amazed at the talent he has..

A fully fit, focussed and firing on all cylinders Fred will get you 20+ championship goals no problem.

In all honesty I dont care where he goes, I just want the money we deserve for his talents and sooner rather than later.

£2m plus a player should do it..

Anyone your end who would be willing to be used as part of the deal?.. Jemal Johnson would be nice!!??..

JJ could be an excellent signing for someone, I just think he needs a regular place and a couple of goals to help build his confidence up, The goal he scored against dirty leeds will stick in my mind forever :hilarious: screemer in the last min lmfao :D

just in case you missed it

Do you think JJ would be willing to come down here, even if only on loan?

That goal was superb, poor old Leeds eh!!

:hilarious:

I think he's surplus to requirements, I don't think he'll get in our team next year. I think he's one of those players that needs to step down to take the step up again if you know what I mean

Superb, he is just the sort of guy we need down here.

Have a word with your board to include JJ in the deal and I'm sure Tilson will bite your hand off..

I also note that wolf1 hasn't been back on lately to admit that he was wrong in his belief that Wolves would get Fred for less than £2m. I think we all knew Fred was worth at least that - with a sell on to boot.

Matt

Yeah looks like I was incorrect in my assumption we would be able to get Eastwood for less than £2m. I'm still pretty sure it will be closer to £1.5m than £4m though ( Rayleigh! ). I'm interested to see just how much Wolves and Charlton want the player. I'm intrigued why many of you seem to think Charlton are a much better bet than Wolves for Freddy - its not that easy to go straight back up having been relegated - although Sunderland and Blues managed it last year. I think Wolves could suprise a lot of peopel this year. Lets hope Eastwood is impressed by what he sees at Molineux.

I think that many (me included) would say Charlton from being quite local for Freddy would be the better option for him. However it does seem that McCarthy is building a young squad at Molineux, Keogh, Jarvis, Kightly etc, so from that aspect being there at the outset may prove the more exciting option for him.

However the stumbling block will be the price, and in a free market economy whoever stumps up the most cash to benefit the coffers of Southend United will get his signature.

Well according to todays Echo they are running a front page story saying Freddy might be leaving, WHY WERENT WE TOLD ?

Revelation indeed.

Wolves have made a 2 mil bid and Charlton are bidding 1.5million + 500k for promotion but we are waiting for a revised bid from them.

So looks like its going to be around 2mil plus possible bonuses which isnt too bad.

Oh the end is nigh....:(

Looks suspiciously not like Leeds to me!

:D

In principle I think Wolves would be a good move for him as he could really do with a season at a club aspiring for promotion rather than one expecting it. I'm not convinced that McCarthy is the right man for the job but playing playoff level football at Championship level would certainly be good for him.

Charlton and Wolves are pretty dismal options really - if I was Freddys representative I would still be waiting for Bruce or Redknapp to show their hand -

like the programme said Freddys ready -

Wouldnt they have made their interest known by now?

How long would you wait ?

No premiership club has shown any interest and I think that would be too much of a step up.

Far better joining a good CCC club where he will regular games to continue his development.

Not Ferguson or Mourinho then? We know he's good, but he's not yet proven to all that he's good enough for the premiership. A season in a decent Championship side may well alter that of course.
