HT - Anyone still playing?

I don't know if I'll ever have the enthusiasm to get this going again. I've not been playing properly since the start of this thread but have still been comfortably holding my own in midtable. It must be really annoying for keen players trying to move up the league because my MF with Outstanding/formidable/excellent central midfield seems to do the business for me (bear in mind I'm VI still).

I just can never be bothered to go out and buy the players i'd need for promotion even though I've got well over £2m in the bank and a lot of sellable assets. I've also used some fo teh money to upgrade mys tadium to 40k and train up a coach from internal who is solid in both leadership and training.

Basically, if I could be bothered, I'm pretty sure promotion would be mine but I never seem to have the time/inclination.

Won 4-0 today to move a step closer to promotion (at last!).

Play martins away next week then Saintz at home in the last.

269 hatstats on a PIC and probably the best all round stats I've managed:

Midfield: solid (high)
Right Defence: formidable (very high)
Central Defence: formidable (high)
Left Defence: formidable (very high)
Right Attack: excellent (very low)
Central Attack: passable (very low)
Left Attack: excellent (high)

If my striker can recover some form and we MOTS our last game we should break our hatstats record of 284. Good thing is that our wage bill is now £155k rather than the £220k it was then, finally got the balance right in the team.

Lost 4-0 to runaway leaders on a PiC - no shame in that and have a home banker next week with my last game that'll decide whether I finish second or third. Second would be nice as it keeps up the trend of improvement year on year.

However - I have 3 wingers in my team with only two needed for matchday - One's on a +4, one on a +2 and one sent off today, bugger ! Tempted not too dip into the market this week as I should get away with strong WBs in those berths next week but at the same time wing is one area I need to strengthen next season so a decision to be made for me this week.

I also hit 269 hatstats, but on a PIN at home to the top team in a 2- win.

Since last season I've reached the stage where my hatstats have plateaued and instead of trying to get as high hatstats as possible, I'm now (finally) concentrating more on the tactical side of the game and trying to pick tactics to beat my opponent and am using wing-backs more attackingly and forwards to wing, which both harm my overall hatstats but give me a better chance of winning.

Looks like there are some new developments announced in ht - any early views on those?

Interesting stuff. Will be nice to get all those horrible divine+++ players from the game and am also glad I started the multiskilling process early.

Defeated 2-1, Martins MOTSed and came up with an outstanding midfield rating, we counter attacked with a 4-4-2 in anticipation but didn't get a single CA chance.

Lost 4-3 away to the second-placed team, who got a magnificent midfield rating.

I already had third place wrapped up and am hoping that today's opponents promote out of my division.

Secured second place. Comfortable 3 nil away from home with 8 mins to go. With a million in the bank plus a couple of sales to come as long as no one decent comes down I will start as favourite for a promo push next season woohoo !! And a second win in SZ cup today will do very nicely thanks !

Won 9-0, despite having a man sent-off.

Finished the season in third. Hopefully the team who finished top will go up, but even if he does I'll have my work cut out to beat the two in second.

A capacity 70,000 crowd saw us win 4-0 to take the league. We have a very winnable looking play off too so we may finally be on our way out of V.

70,000? Maybe I need to increase my capacity. I'm a division higher and have a 61,000 stadium. How often do you sell out and how many members do you have?

I've only just increased buit was frequently selling out at 60,000. Got 2,300 members or thereabouts, though that should increase with promotion.

I've got 2669 members, but there's no point in expanding my stadium until a few weeks into next season at the earliest.

My coach has dropped to inadequate leadership today :-(

Guys totally off topic, but i am one off them annoying hattrick users who havent a clue what they are doing.

I was wondering if there was anyone who could advise on where i could get a logo done for my team, now im no good at photoshop or any of them so i need someone to take me through stage by stage....Blimey i feel really stupid sometimes lol.

If you join the Bottom Division Federation there are guys there who design logos.

Oh and while I'm here, we're now officially a Level IV team, at bloody last!

Well played B, seems I have been auto promoted as you can see I take a lot of notice of Hattrick. Back to being a Level III team, where I will get royally stuffed each week and be back in Level IV.

Nice one B - hopefully I'll only be one season behind you. I start off as a clear favourite but I'm strengthening my squad all the same. Bought a titanic winger yesterday (only inadequate playmaking but should be good enough). Currently have 8 players up for sale (3 of them former players). Titanic defender currently up to 980K. Expecting to net around 1.8 million for the lot to be reinvested into another IM (Supernatural or better) and a couple of cheap but experienced reserves for the cup/friendlies to protect first teamers.

Well my pre-season sell off seems to have worked wonders. I reaped £2.3 mill in total which is £0.5 mill more than I was expecting. Have a new trainee defender to buy and an ET/Titan IM and hoping to leave room for a stadium upgrade (currently only 42K)

I'm favourite to promote and with a bit of luck I should be able to achieve that. My main rival who was relegated has just sold a player for £1.3 mill and he is the only one other than me active in the transfer market but he has two great players and if one of those is injured or suspended then he has problems.

Big question for now is how far short is my first team squad from competing in Div IV if I do get promoted ?
