HT - Anyone still playing?

Still playing if playing = logging on once a week to see what your YP looks like. Still holding 3rd in VI though!

This week's YP is a bit tasty:

Shawn MacGuaran (164934855)
17 years, passable form, healthy
A pleasant guy who is balanced and upright.
Has disastrous experience and passable leadership abilities.

+4 injury! Throw in a +3 for my wing back, a +3 injury that my other striker already has and a 3-1 defeat and it's not a good day!
2 more injuries in the friendly including a +5 for my other wing back who was playing to get passing training. Now have 6 players injured not including the WC striker who sold for £400k :thump:

I've just got back into it. I only logged in as and when to keep my team active and had a reasonable team which meant I've been able to stay top half table for the last few seasons without doing anything and also increase my bank balance to £4.5m - In the last week I've increased my stadium from 35k to 45k and purchased 9 new players to go alongside my decent midfield. Currently firing players daily and hoping to have sold some as well. We shall see how it all pans out.

ORM is still hanging in there. Finished 3rd in Div V last season and destined to do that again this season, though a shock draw in my second game has made that job a bit harder.

Still training defence, still playing 5-4-1, still making small upwards steps each season - this season I've finally made cup round V for instance.

Current line up as follows

GK - WC
LB - WC
CB - WC
CB - M
CB - B (due pop)
RB - B (due pop)
LW - B (Magnificent SPs)
CM - SUP
CM - WC (Res WC)
RW - WC
AT - WC (Res WC)

New record 272 hatstats for me this week, that was with a solid defender and a solid striker due to injury. Playing the game with no actual training strategy is proving far more lucrative with cup runs and gate receipts!

Joint top of the division and miles better than any other team, just waiting for a titanic striker and world class defender to return from injury now.

Blimey, you are catching up with me. According to hatstats my highest is 285, but that was back in April.

I've had a horrible season due to a combination of injuries (+27 at one stage, all first teamers) and that I'm in the 2nd hardest IV.
Won at the weekend against the bottom team to take me up to 5th, but my team seems to be stagnating.

Yep, still got the bug here too, and enjoying seeing the extra money flooding into the transfer market. I've always bought solids or excellents in the past but might drop down to passables as 200-250K for a solid defender with unspectacular secondaries seems wrong to me,

Currently 5th after the first half of the season but I'm confident I'll finish anywhere from second to 4th. Well up in comparison on hatstats/stars but I've had at one unexpected result and one tactical miscalculation so far this season.

TS is very high after a number of PIC's. Should be able to PIC all the way up to the final match against the team I'm joint top with.

Basically I sold all my trainees and bought a concentrated first XI, training barely carries much profit these days and all I do now is train wing and then train my IM's & forwards in wing in the friendly.

Anyone seen the new match Viewer? I was online for my game this sunday just gone. It's looks good, you can even chat to other manager if there online and watching aswell.

Haven't been online during th ematch for a while but will have to check it out.

Picked up an English extra-terrestrial midfielder today to replace a magnificent foreigner. Wage bill is over £200k now but we should now be unstoppable in our division and our gates for the remainder of the season should sustain our balance sheet. Next job is to replace our 26yo wing backs with younger more trainable ones.

My wage bill is £167,000 and I find it unsustainable being midtable in IV.

It will be trimmed back once we get out of V, our two strikers earn £70k between them and I will be aiming to trim this back to two English supernaturals. At the moment the additional wage is being funded by an excess of cash from selling trainees. I reckon we're losing £50k per week on average but the cash I got from 4 home games in the cup certainly balanced that off.

Wage bill of £127K for a div V. Room for squad improvement next season and will probably push bill up to around £150K, but still be making money on that. Just building up the coffers for the rest of this season, might even upgrade the stadium, currently only 40K.

Are prices rising? Revamping my initial upgrade of my team and results have been good considering none of these players were trained:

10/09/2007 Sold Fredy Prado to sakura scp £650,667
08/09/2007 Sold Idar Martinsen to Rapid De Pinte £838,667
03/09/2007 Sold Frederico Aires to fc TriNet £558,667

31/07/2007 Bought Frederico Aires from P.T.H. £453,334
30/07/2007 Bought Fredy Prado from Joselo £466,670
03/07/2007 Bought Idar Martinsen from Aksir Hommersåk £533,334

Thinking it might be a good time to commit fully to a full training regime again? I could sell my wingers and defenders and go full on defence training with a 5-3-2 AIM. Hmmm....

I got this mail today from some Spanish guy:

Hello! I am a Spanish equipment and am giving a tour along europa, in the principal countries, now I am in Swirzlendand and the truth always I try to play with big equipments in order that my players learn and do of sparring though to mas of one I have given him a surprise. It wanted that you were accepting the friendly one since you prop the schedule of the party pus to see live, serious brilliant . To hope that our boards directives eat together and see a good party without lesioness
I'm about concerned about playing with his big equipment but at least I shouldn't get any lesions....

Great week for me, sold all my WC defence, solid wing defenders for around £850k apiece and replaced with 18/19 yo trainees with outstanidng defence and minimum inadequate wing, saves me about £25k per week in wages, leaves £1.2m in the bank and I can created better multiskilled players. With £44k Prado also off the books our wages are down to a much more manageable £165k and that should reduce further once Masse (£25k) is sold and replaced by a FTW trainee.

We then won 5-0 Sunday and the top team lost heavily so we've hit top spot on goal difference, though it is rather tight:

1. ShrimperZone FC 9 6 2 1 30 - 8 +22 20
2. martins all stars 9 6 2 1 25 - 8 +17 20
3. Southampton Saintz 9 6 1 2 31 - 13 +18 19

I play those two in the final two games so should be a good end to the season.

I might just be able to get out of V at last. Even with those defenders sold (their XP as well as skill would make a big difference as were all passable+ compared to my trainees who are wretched) and fielding a solid striker we hit 257 hatstats and excellent (very high) midfield was our highest ever rating there!

Oh and just to make things better, I got a late acceptance for a friendly in Guatemala which will take me to 74 flags.

It's amazing how a complete overhaul of your team can renew your interest in HT. I know only have 3 main players left that finished last season!

I've a WC defender with formidable wing on the market at the moment

Visa Konttinen (82364913)

A nasty fellow who is balanced and upright.
Has inadequate experience and inadequate leadership abilities.

Wage: 8 456 £/week including 20% Bonus

Playmaking: inadequate Passing: poor
Winger: formidable Defending: world class
Scoring: poor Set Pieces: wretched

Current bidding is £936,667. Hopefully can eek out a few more £££s if you get £850k for mere solid wing. Deadline is at 18:50HT time tonight.

Had a pleasing 5-0 away win yesterday. I'm now up to 3rd after a nightmare start to the season of 3 consecutive defeats.
