How many shrimperzoners are not going to be posting next season

Dunno, maybe after your Southampton outfit you might find a few cancellations in the South West corner:)

Hey, I'll have you know that my banana and I were well received by all. I might bring it to home matches next season. It would probably speak more sense during the match than a certain Scottish fella does.

I think if you've been bitten by the Shrimpers bug, I'd like to think you'd follow the boys whatever league they're in (hopefully the upper reaches from now on). After all, isn't that what happened to all of us? I began to support Southend when they were in the old Division 4, and here I am 20+ years later.

Totally agree. Have bee supporting them for 31 years, but to be fair only really looked for a forum to keep in touch because of were I moved to but when I move back home in the summer of 08 I will be at every home game and as many away games and Mrs Aberdeen Shrimper will let me go to, but more importantly I will still be opposing on here.

but as your join date states Jan 2006 that makes you one of the new posters from the last two seasons. If we do lose 40 out of 150 people that makes it a 26% chance that you will stop posting.

Hoorah! Some light at the end of the tunnel!

Also, what's interesting to note is that when we have the regular weekly "I'm a loyal supporter thread" - It always transpired that everyone is the best supporter and been following the Shrimpers for 20+ years, which would mean they must have experienced relegations before, so your argument is pointless and our loyal supporters and fanbase on here will be sticking around for another 20+ years :hilarious: :flamer:

:thump:

Yet again TMWLT raises a valid point and yet again he is shot down in flames. FWIW those of us dedicated enough to be (or to have become) loyal and regular posters on here are unlikely to be among the majority of the 1/3 of people that either won't renew their season ticket or won't bother to watch games regularly next season.

If we don't hit the ground running can you honestly see 7,000+ gates at RH ? We'll be back down to 5,500 -6,000 quicker than you can say "Oh **** ! Barretts screwed another one up for an easy goal to the opposition"

No getting rid of me! SUFC FOR LIFE!

Been on here over 3 years now.

Errr.... What flames, ORM? About the worst comment is that the thread is boring which considering that the question has a fairly simple and self-evident answer (people who post on SZ tend to be amongst the more commited fans, and are therefore, I would posit, unlikely to leave in any numbers) isn't entirely unfair. Almost everyone else has discussed the point, or gone on a slight tangent and considered the likelyhood of Season Ticket holders renewing, which wasn't the actual question, or digressed into some mild banter between themselves.

TMWLT is in the habit of posting provocative opinions and criticisms of Tilson's character which he rarely backs up with solid facts. Considering that history, I think that the response to this thread shows that people don't just instinctively flame but treat posts on thier merits. Wiggy is a good example of this - s/he posts two distinct types of thread, one of which is angry, rude, disrespectful and attracts strong contrary opinions. The other type which appears all too occasionaly is thoughtful, in the main constructive, and well argued and the later is dealt with respectfully and the points debated.

Lucky sod, can't advise me on a strategy that will persuade my Mrs to relocate to Essex will you?

Just tell her you can take her to Roots Hall every other week...and if that doesn't persuade her then I don't know what will...

Tried that many times & failed!
Doesn't help she's Man Utd (even tried the "well you'll feel at home amongst all the other Essex Reds" point of view but that didn't go down too well either!)

Like other real fans I cannot wait to get rid of the plastics and hope we see a return to the good old days of small crowds, financial insecurity, sh!t players and the occasional flirtation with conference status.

the big question is this, how many of us posted on here when it was not password protected, I remember with affection the letter from the club in 2001 I received re posting on this board, hey that makes me having posted for 6 years, you dont need to be einstein to work that out do you
