How many shrimperzoners are not going to be posting next season

Actually, to be fair to TMWLT, I might have to stop posting so much. I'm going to be pretty busy with work next season and, looking back, I've let my productivity slip a bit this season.

Count me out!

Boo Hissssssssssss

I am in this camp.......i feel that as word spreads we can only increase the folk that are posting.

What would help is if during big games like the playoffs and the cup games we could encourage ex-pats to go in to the Shriperzone chat room (Spread Eagle) and bring in folk with them who don’t support the blues, kind of turn it in to football/sports chat room during close season for all football supporters to discus live games or any other sporting event that may be going on at the time.....Just a thought.

AS Mate we have Kicked off!

Can't see why it would drop... Vital part of my day is the 'zone and I've met some luvverly people through it....Cricko, Slip, Aberdeen etc etc.

I will be posting "look my 4000th post!" sometime during the autumn I suggest :D

I wouldn't be so hasty about Slip and AS mate:p

This is a bit harsh, TMWLT has made a valid point but because some people dont agre with some of his other posts he doesnt get taken seriously.

I think it will be extremely likely we will have a big loss of ST's who will be thinking, it will be easy to get a ticket so I will go on a match to match basis.

The crunch will come if we are struggling and they decide to "give it a miss this week"

I Love the Zone and as Mk says met some great friends on here..I would not leave ...although it makes me shy at times to post.

I think if you've been bitten by the Shrimpers bug, I'd like to think you'd follow the boys whatever league they're in (hopefully the upper reaches from now on). After all, isn't that what happened to all of us? I began to support Southend when they were in the old Division 4, and here I am 20+ years later.

Now that the season is over I can officially confirm that my agent informs me that there has been major interest in my match reports from a host of European clubs. I have been offered a 6-figure Euro deal to do the unofficial AC Milan match reports next year as well as a plethora of offers from Prem and CCC clubs, Liverpool and Man Utd among them. Most of these are in the 6-figure a year bracket as well as generous transportation allowances and relocation expenses plus a selection of tasty looking mates of existing WAGS for company should I get lonely. The only condition is that I watch the games I report on.

**** off I said, and I was well pleased with my response.

So I'll be staying then.

Think your right - most of our crowds last season in the 1st were around the 6000 figure (with the odd exception) until after Xmas when anticipation grows. Think alot of people got tickets last year as the clever PR by the club saying we sold loads of tickets maybe panicked people into buying them to avoid the worry of not getting tickets. Think we have definately gained supporters but anyone who thinks teams like Carlisle/Port Vale are going to attract anything over 7000 are seriously misguided - saying that havent spoke to anyone who has said they are not renewing and have also found someone who didnt have one this year but is getting one next season.

I think you will be very suprised at the home gates next year...We have created a roll with new fans. I think Most if not all will renew and others will join too...I dont see many leaving.

As Stickyboy says, 20 months ago we were getting 6-7000 and we have been on promotion runs or playing Championsip sides for longer than that.

I hope we can average 8,000 next season but losing all the away fans will put a dent in before we count our own supporters that stop coming.

Certainly dont see all renewing and more joining Im afraid.

We already had one of those polls, came out pretty positive.

To be honest people who post here are pretty much likely to be regular matchgoers, anyway or those that have moved away anyway.

Maybe we need a poll to see whos renewing and whos not and any new ST holders.

As you say the key is the away fans to our overall gate which will drop big time

Good point ..would be interesting to see the actual figures for away supporters at RH Last season.....Come On Stats where are you ?

There will be fewer seasos than last season but I don't think it'll still be comfortably the second highest ever number we've had. I must know a dozen people who got season tickets for the first time this year and all are renewing. I don't see any reason why that wouldn't be the case with most people.
