High Court hearing v Charterhouse 14/07/2010

From the Echo web-site:

Southend United has been given more breathing space to sort out its financial woes.

At the High Court today (Wednesday) loan company Charterhouse Commercial Finance applied to adjourn its winding up petition against the blues until after an HMRC administration audit on August 2 Charterhouse say the blues owe them over £140,000.

This case will be heard on August 11.

And so the drama continues....

Does this mean the money has NOT been paid ?

edit: otherwise why else would it be extended?

Wow... this i cannot get my head round.

Charterhouse ASKED for the case to be ajourned until after the HMRC hearing.

Anyone know why they would do that logically?

I missed that bit the first time around. What does that mean Class mate?

So the liability has not been discharged yet even though Ron said it would before todays hearing.

The bloke is a ****

I think it would be better for everyone if Ron Martin just stopped announcing stuff... even if he isnt lying (and anything can go wrong that we dont know about), the less we are told the better if this is what keeps happening.

So why have Charterhouse applied for an adjournement?

What do they want to see from the audit on 2nd Aug?

Says to me this is just one payment the club owes to them, that they have defaulted on, with more owing to them?

Think we need clarification ASAP as to what a

HMRC administration audit

Actually is... does that mean Administration begins? An audit to see if we need administration? Or just an unfortunate turn of phrasing?

Its the echo - I'll go for unfortunate phrasing.

But why would Charterhouse be interested in that - surely they just want their money?

As I have said above. Perhaps the £140,000 is just one of many payments that are due to them and we have already defaulted on the first? Hence the court action today.

Perhaps they are waiting to see where the club is financially on 2nd Aug and may call in the whole lot on Aug 11th, if they are concerned?

Perhaps all the creditors are now clumping together and preparing to take action as one. I think JamesTheSuperBlue mentioned this yesterday. This is bad news for Ron if this is the case.

Or perhaps I am talking bollox.
