Funny, but a gross exaggeration.

I struggle to get my head around the inability to understand that:
  1. The club is simply not going to just "get a body in". Maybe in absolutely dire straits, but we're not there yet.
  2. Other clubs hoovered up a load of our targets (first, second and third in some cases) whilst we were unable to make any signings.
  3. The management team has some targets, some of them currently at EFL clubs, and is holding on in the hope that they won't go to another EFL club before the deadline and that we can nab them afterwards.
I understand a degree of impatience and panic - what's new with football fans? - but anybody advocating the club dropping interest in top targets that they think they are in with a good shout of landing, and going for someone they deem to be a worse fit, or of lower quality, just to "get bodies in", is off their rocker.

You mistake me for someone who is as you say, inpatient or who would moan if a bad one did come in and ruin team morale etc. I actually applaud the fact we are on the look out for the right player not just in terms of footballing ability but off the field as well. There surely though comes a point where once all the “perfect fits” have gone elsewhere which seems to be the case, you have to turn your attentions to those who only meet (for example) 3 of your 5 criteria. We are on the cusp of losing two of our better players from last season, we have a few who are out injured for the foreseeable future. We need some reinforcements and fast.
