Saw Peter Gabriel here last night at the Palau Sant Jordi.Wasn't full by any means but it was an interesting show. The first half was given over to stuff from his current "Scratch my back" covers album and the second was effectively a greatest hits package.Didn't realise he'd be playing with a full orchestra behind him.Given that Sting is performing here in October with the LSO, is this some sort of new trend in live pop?
No Sting is just a boring arse
Oh lordy lord the chuckle brothers have a new member,to me to you to me to you.
Finally got my hands on my Roger Waters tickets last night .. there's 5 of us going on Thursday 12th May and bound to be a top night
Block 111 5 rows from the front, close enough to see every detail and far enough away to be able to take it all in
I saw an up and coming young band called The Bluebeat Arkestra in Birmingham's HMV Institute on Friday night. They were eclectic and original - imagine St. Etienne with soul and some powerhouse percussion and you're getting there. Wonderful to hear the 'ideologically sound trumpet' (cf. Billy Bragg - Cliffs Pavilion, '85) in alliance with a sassy violin. Perhaps the best band to come out of Brum since Dexy's. :stunned:
Maybe but Thin Lizzy were surely the best ever.
Of the originals - Phil Lynott and Brian Downey were from Dublin. Eric Bell was from Belfast - as was his replacement Gary Moore. No Brummies in the band at all, as far as I can recall. :nope:
Later one Yank - Scott Goram (Andy Gorams more talented brother:winking:)
saw placebo last night at brixton :D were pretty mental
im sure some of you know who they are
