Only 40% of people usually vote in UK European/local elections.

That's precisely what will give parties like UKIP an advantage at the polls.

Their supporters are much more motivated to vote in a European election where PR gives them a real chance of coming first.

I have. I did it this morning. It's quite convenient for me. The polling station is my son's school, so I dropped him off at breakfast club and voted.

The best thing I've heard is that the Argentinian I work with (and who has a German wife, and daughter) has registered to vote so that he can ensure there is one extra anti UKIP vote!

That should infuriate a few people.

Tactics. Who do you reeeeeally not want to vote for? Pick the one you are least offended by as it is effectively a vote against the party you are most offended by.

Voted in the Euro election.....didn't bother with the local election as there were only lab,lib and tory candidates standing and i couldn't bring myself to put a cross next to any of them. Just folded up the paper and put it in the ballot box unfilled.
