So it appears Hughie is going for the title shot against Wilder, on Tyson's undercard. Too early, surely?

I don't rate Wilder. I think he's there for the taking. Any half decent HW can & will dismantle him. His technique is wild & erratic & his jaw is glass. It's the perfect combo for a decent puncher. So as he wings one of them wild, telegraphed hooks, the counter uppercut, goes straight up the middle and detonates on his jaw.

That being said, it's too early for Hughie. He's still a kid basically. Take his boxing ability out of the equation & consider his body, power & strength have not even fully developed yet. He's a future contender, I've no doubt about that.

But realisticly, there's no chance this fight happens on Oct 24th. Maybe in a not too distant future, but can't see this happening in 2 monthS.

Same, and against a decent boxer he'll be quickly found out. Problem is, there aren't many of those about in this division. I've now heard that as you predicted, the HF/DW fight is defo a no go. Best decision on Hughie's part, as hard as it is to resist the chance at a title shot. As much as I dislike Tyson, could you imagine all the Fury's winning the belts in one night. I'd have to pretend Boxing stops at Cruiserweight ;)

Haha. WAR the Fury's!! What a celebration it'd be. Caravans all over the world would be rocking and rolling that night.

I'll be honest, I don't think you'd need an elite level fighter to bash up Wilder. Against Molina he looked awful & Molina is barely Euro level. Tyson Fury cleans him out right now. Same with Povetkin, Teper & of course Wlad. Also, Joseph Parker's name will start becoming more recognisable sooner rather than later. He's a real prospect.

I wouldn't necessarily rule Hughie out right now, but it'd be wiser for him to mature into his body, develop his strength & power first, before having a crack at World level. That lengthy time out of the game has stunted him. But Peter Fury wants him out 6 times in 2016, so would imagine if all goes according to plan, Hughie will be knocking on the door in 2017. Maybe against Joshua aswell!! Can't wait to see Hughie dismantle him :)

Boxing is back on Saturday!!

Anyone who fancies entering the prediction game, set up by Wes, is more than welcome.

WAR Groves!!!!!!

Ah rubbish, I forgot to come in and set the predictions. For what it's worth, really enjoyed the Leeds card, was a nit of a whitewash for the home boys, maybe I was just grateful boxing was back, Looking forward to the inevitable Selby Warrington show down though.

Its all good. The Leeds card wasn't worthy of predictions, anyway tbh. I did write out a longish post yesterday, in the prediction thread, but then lost it & couldn't be arsed to re-write it all. Will have another go today. I said maybe the 3 fights to predict this week should be the 3 main ones. AJ, Groves, Floyd?

Really looking forward to Anthony Joshua fighting tonight. I reckon he will knock out Gary cornish but I do think Gary will take Anthony past the usual 3 rounds for Joshua. But admittedly Cornish has a good record and is bigger and heavier than Anthony Joshua so we will have to see...!

Jump into the prediction thread & play along mate. It's in the All Sports Forum

Also, no way this goes longer than 3, UNLESS Joshua wants it to, or has been told to.

Utterly pointless. Totally & utterly pointless. AJ could have sparked this guy cold, 12 months ago. He's not progressing, he's standing still & has been for some time. This is a first or second round demolition job, which every single casual fan wil lap up & buy even more into the hype machine. Especially with nob head commentators like Nick Halling, building it up as a real battle/tough fight, only for AJ to roll over Cornish pasty within 2 rounds & then proclaim "this guy is frightening".

I remember Hearn waffling on about a massive show, with a real test for Joshua. And it ends up being Gary Cornish ffs.

Regular as clockwork. Abysmal commentators. Abysmal matchmaking. Roll on AJ facing a live challenger, like Hughie Fury or Joseph Parker. God help him if he actually stepped in with Tyson Fury or Alexander Povetkin

So 49 and 0 do we honestly think that was the final bout?

The pro's far outweigh the cons for a 50th fight. Can't see his ego allowing him to stop now, especially considering there genuinely isn't anyone capable of testing him. Add in another $50m, and it should be nailed on.

He'll fight in MGM's new arena in Vegas, which is set to open April next year.
