GCSE results tomorrow

I passed everything getting C's and B's! Honestly can't believe it..
My mum burst out crying when I told her as I think she thought I wasn't going to get into college.
Hope everyone else got what they wanted!

Oh and I got the job in the Fryery in Hockley!

Great news Ozzy, congratulations on the job as well. My provisional license came through today as well. Very happy right now.

Yes, congrats to the young 'uns. Keep up the good work and remember that University life is a breeze of parties, alcohol, copious sex, Countdown and the occasional lecture.

Not that I'd know being at University at 37 and with a wonderful missus...(hello dear ;) )

**** easy exams.

It's not that the exams are getting easier as such (but with ever changing course requirements that's not an easy thing to say for certain), although the ever raising passrate does make it initially look like it.

However;

The reason the passrate is always on the up is because grade boundaries aren't set until AFTER all the exams have been marked. The QCA (people who moderate the exam boards) decide what proportion should get A's, B's, etc and set the grade boundaries accordingly. That's why pupils don't see their 'raw' mark, but are given a mark according to the UMS (Unified Mark Scheme) - and there is NO logic as to how one translates to the other.

It's an utter farce, and unfortunately leaves what grade you get out of your own hands.

Good point, well put
