Films you've watched recently.

This weekend I saw

X - a horror film set in the 70s by Ti West; good gory fun
Tenet - amazing, must watch, mindbending sci-fi

IN Bruges.Saw this 2008 film again last night on DVD .It remains a wonderfully funny ,ironic black comedy .Warning ,contains some scenes featuring explicit drug taking, prostitutes, and even racist dwarves (sorry midgets). What's not to like?

It's a funny film. I've never seen it before last night, (it's now on Netflix). It's my sense of humour in a World where we're not allowed to laugh at anything anymore.

Probably a bit of that.Seeing it again I was struck by how violent the ending was -but it is a "thriller" afer all.Good to know it's being revived (even on Netflix)!Twas a bit of a cult fim back in the day IIRC.

Black Adam with some of the grandchildren. It was 4dx which means the seats moved and water sprays you. Think I've done a hamstring. Good film. Good defeats evil. I like the Rock. Kids loved it. Bloated with a 5 Guys burger and milk shake. Not eating for the next few days

Watched 7 Pyschos last night, similar feel to Bruges, with a bit of a Tarantino style to it as well. Interesting, amusing, confusing. Worth watching once imo but not a cult classic. Christopher Walken steals limelight from Farrell or Harrelson. 7/10

Tangled Up In Blue.........This "must see" film is on Netflix from Friday........."All Quiet On The Western Front".

How annoying.
Saw this while surfing on Netflix last night. Said to myself “another great film being ruined “ and didn’t bother to read the reviews

Instead I watched. “The forgotten battle “ very good 8/10 war film.

As an asideMarket garden (Arnhem) took resources away from this vital area and instead of shortening the war the operation arguably extended it. Which might be why in the uk we don’t know much about this battle

hi
I have watched that too. An important battle, largely forgotten but one I knew of, my great uncle, a corporal in Royal Marines was killed there. The letter my Great Gran got, and one of his surviving pals told, he died when his landing craft took a direct hit. He is on the fallen list memorial above Chatham docks with many others. Veteran of first day of D day landing.

Indeed the reviews (read one in the Guardian yesterday) make it to be an excellent updating of the original.
Having seen the amazing original (and the "made for TV" remake) "All Quiet On The Western Front" (2022) is the finest war film that I have ever seen.

I saw it at The Curzon Bloomsbury (of course films are best seen at the cinema).
