The original was banned in Germany at the time "All Quiet On The Western Front" (2022) is German made.

That's a pity as Lewis Milestone's film is an anti.-war classic.I'd imagine its "banning" had more to do with a new version being made than anything else.Certainly hope so.

Indeed .Just shows what a quick google search can wrongly turn up (or perhaps my eyesight's not what it was) :Winking:..Although I have seen Lewis Milestone's classic anti-war fim (on TV IIRC) it was a long time after 1930 or even 1939.:Smile:

Just dug out my old (DVD ) copy.Looke forward to seeing it again (for what wiould be the 3rd time later tonight or tomorrow):See that Ralph Fiennes ,who plays the gangland boss who organises the hit was in in too.Forgot about him.He has a talent for black comedy which has rarely been used in the cinema.Enjoy.
