Films you've watched recently.

21 Bridges on the beeb last night starring Chadwick Boseman.

Boseman was a great talent taken much too soon. But sadly, this film isn't very good, and as producer, Boseman has to take his fair share of the blame.

The actions scenes are pretty good, and the actors all put in a good shift. But the film is too formulaic to be great.

A good Saturday film with a few beers, but nothing more than that.

Top Gun - The original. A bit dated now but the aerial photography is still fantastic and the dog fights incredible. A good Sunday night film with a cup of coffee and the missus but nothing more than that :Winking:. Saving up to go to the cinema to see Top Gun - Maverick now.

There is (was) an offer on Compare the Market where you bought any policy and got half price cinema admissions for a year. We got one day travel insurance for £4 and have used the offer for our odeon tickets , it is a big saving if offer is still available I recommend it to you all.

Do you mean the US Navy recruitment film?
Uggghhhhhhhh. I read an article about that on my wall home from the cinema after watching the film today. "Ohhhh US military propaganda". What's the big deal? It's not that deep. It was 2 hours of enjoyable, adrenaline-fuelled escapism. That's all.

Lloyds Bank do a thing where if you pay in a certain amount each month you get 6 free film tickets per year. Doesn't last long for us but we get to see a couple of films gratis.

HSBC do a thing where if you pay several thousands of pounds a month into a business account they close it if you can't prove you are not a money launderer.

Re-watched Bohemian Rhapsody on Netflix. Still a well made film which brings back great memories of the 70s and 80s. 8/10.

Jurassic World - Dominion

Save your money please, I was lucky enough to use a friend's limitless membership to see this and it was awful, after so many films and somewhat success on some of the, you'd expect to see an improvement over time but this was just so bad. Some of the acting was horrendous and surprising some of the CGI was awful too, some dinosaurs were just jittery and just overall looked bad.

It made Primeval (TV series) looking VERY good.

2/10

The Highwaymen on Netflix.

It is the story of the attempt to capture or kill the outlaws Bonnie and Clyde.

It stars Kevin Costner and Woody Harrelson as the real life Texas Rangers Frank Hamer and Maney Gault.

The film had been in development for so long that Paul Newman and Robert Redford were originally touted as possible stars of the project.

I liked the film, it was very much a slow burner and perhaps at 2 hours 12 minutes it was a little too long.

Well worth a watch,

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness - Disney Plus. The world's supply of CGI as you would expect from a Dr Strange film. Starts off fantastically with oodles of CGI but as it progresses the story line is just a bit too weak to make it the best Strange film yet. Nevertheless, enjoyable hokum from Mr Cumberbatch.

Rather enjoyed Baz Luhrmann's Elvis yesterday. Was a bit suprised as I can't say I've really liked any of BL'sprevious work.
