FC - Week 5

Well BB I took your advise and my opening batsmen took on the day and succeeded, two lots of innings and they have yet to take a batsmen.

End of Over 125 (4 runs). Gambero C.C.: 856-0, runrate=6.85 (1st Inn: 502-0 dec)
Lead by 1328 runs. (Bobbys Gentle Touch 30-10)
Keen 24-0-138-0
Harrad* 423 (400 balls)
Liddel 398 (364 balls)

Set the declaration for 860 for tomorrow, so should hopefully get them all out by lunch.

Finally a bowler :) better watch out...

...in a few weeks,

Kevin Savage (322494)

RH Batsman, RFM Bowler, superb batting form, superb bowling form, exhausted
A cautious player with mediocre leadership skills and mediocre experience.

Plays For: Southend United
Nationality: England
Age: 23 Years Old
Battrick Rating: 92,122 (+1599)
Wages: £72,406 p/w

Stamina: competent Wicket Keeping: abysmal
Batting: worthless Concentration: respectable
Bowling: miraculous Consistency: wonderful
Fielding: woeful

A snip at £10,544,937

I'm 83-0 overnight and lead by 55, so have set my declaration at 280, leaving them to chase about 250 in about 55 overs.

Mrs BB is in a bit of trouble in her game with Kev. Probably made a mistake in applying the follow-on as her bowlers are now knackered, if she gets a draw out of it, she's done well.

Can't believe they've trained him for that long and not beefed up his stamina! Nice player but that's at least another 18 weeks of training to come for him.

perfect.... 3 wickets to get, all day to do it, there 70 runs behind... and a best of all... a full days whack in the bank :D

First over of the day:End of Over 75 (Maiden). Work Reds CC: 195-10, runrate=2.60 (1st Inn: 110-10)
Trail by 65 runs. (Southend 370-10)
Brennan 20-4-34-5
Dick* 0 (5 balls)
74.5 W Brennan to Parlour
That's what bowlers love to see! The bails flying, stumps everywhere and the batsmen's face when he looks down at his stumps, priceless!
74.4 W Brennan to Mawson
That's pure village from Mawson. He swung the bat as hard he could but the ball simply went straight down long on's throat.
74.3 . Brennan to Mawson
Mawson steps up and plays it straight back to Brennan who takes a shy at the stumps but misses horribly.
74.2 . Brennan to Mawson
Fullish ball outside off stump, forward, easing it away towards cover point.
74.1 W Brennan to Ingram
Fantastic reactions from the bowler.

All over already :)

My game is heading for a draw. My opponent suggested manufacturing a run chase, I offered him 400 in 90+ overs, but he rejected it as he wanted maximum bonus points.

I'm going to struggle for a bowling point and my bowlers are knackered.

Watching Nick's game, he's all set for another Day 3 run chase to ruin his fitness!

End of Over 39 (1 runs). Clay Cross Cavaliers: 125-4, runrate=3.21 (1st Inn: 322-10)
Lead by 123 runs. (Whos your Daddy 324-10)
Dyke 11-1-32-3
Bridges* 1 (5 balls)
Gowshall 68 (102 balls)

Last Wicket: Dhanjal c. Peters b. Dyke 13 (FOW: 124/4)

Lost a wicket to the 2nd ball of the day, but it's just a question of batting long enough to see off defeat

End of Over 27 (5 runs). BATTY SHRIMPERS: 98-1, runrate=3.63 (1st Inn: 247-10)
Lead by 70 runs. (West Reading 275-10)
Ogrady 13-0-45-0
Ricketts* 59 (85 balls)
Raziuddin 4 (13 balls)

Last Wicket: Blake lbw b. Lewins 31 (FOW: 84/1)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

End of Over 115 (8 runs, 1lb). General Stars: 336-2, runrate=2.92 (1st Inn: 68-10)
Lead by 180 runs. (DIBS DIPPERS 224-10)
Winn 24-4-89-1
Bayliss* 111 (337 balls)
Browne 104 (141 balls)

Last Wicket: Philip c. Mohammed b. Winn 41 (FOW: 164/2)

polished off their innings in the day's 3rd over... depends how quickly we can get to 170 now, but hopefully i'll be giving them at least 50 overs to get through.

End of Over 110 (5 runs). The Fortescue CC: 365-10, runrate=3.32
Trail by 137 runs. (Pettefershire CCC 502-3 dec)
Mackin 19-3-61-3
Janes* 15 (22 balls)
109.5 W Mackin to Dowdall
Slight movement away from him and a thin edge is taken by Rautenbach.

Can't believe they've trained him for that long and not beefed up his stamina! Nice player but that's at least another 18 weeks of training to come for him.

Some people really dont think, do they ...

I have set my declaration at 435ish - which is a lead of about 275. Will then give my bowlers (well, Guy!) 75 overs to try and get the wickets!

Oh and all batters set to very attacking!

Kev

EDIT: Quick ton up for Browne. An xp pop would be nice!

Steroids in their drinks last night as we hit 32 in 6 overs, set a dec. target of 260 to give us most of the day to bowl at them, everyone is set to bowl attacking, and it's partially cloudy today, is that good for the bowlers?

End of Over 38 (6 runs). Southend United: 168-2, runrate=4.42 (1st Inn: 368-2 dec)
Lead by 179 runs. (Bearsden 357-10)
Gall 8-0-33-2
Sugden* 89 (100 balls)
Drury 19 (20 balls)

Last Wicket: Bartlett b. Gall 21 (FOW: 130/2)

I don't think you'll be seeing much of Mohammed or Bradley today, so you could get a bit longer to bowl them out, or for Mrs BB to chase

Looks like a draw -even thought just lost two wickets in one over!

End of Over 16 (3 runs). Napster's XI: 45-2, runrate=2.81 (1st Inn: 407-6 dec)
Scores are level. (One Hit Wonders 452-4 dec)
Jeithoon 8-2-23-2
Sutherland* 3 (3 balls)
Booth 0 (0 balls)

Last Wicket: Jefferson b. Jeithoon 14 (FOW: 45/2)

15.6 W Jeithoon to Jefferson
That's the benefit of bowling straight, if the batsman misses, you hit!
15.5 1 Jeithoon to Sutherland
The ball is effortlessly nudged down to third man for an easy single.
15.4 . Jeithoon to Sutherland
A confident drive through extra cover, but the man two-thirds back is in the right place.
15.3 2 Jeithoon to Sutherland
Whipped away through the vacant mid wicket region. Not quite off the middle and they will pick up two.
15.2 W Jeithoon to Murray
Easy catch for Pieters. Murray had no idea about that one.
15.1 . Jeithoon to Murray
Murray blocks it lazily...

No i see that Mrs BB has been a little coy on that front. Could work the other way round but i can see this match getting a result ...

Browne's top score was 73* before this knock and he's flying at the moment!

119.2 2 Higgs to Browne
Browne gets to the pitch of the ball and sweeps it fine for two runs. Nicely done.
119.1 6 Higgs to Browne
Browne has knocked Higgs straight out of the park. The tortoise certainly isn't winning this contest, a fast bowler might be more at home here.

End of Over 119 (2 runs). General Stars: 353-2, runrate=2.97 (1st Inn: 68-10)
Lead by 197 runs. (DIBS DIPPERS 224-10)

Hammond 2-0-5-0
Raziuddin* 27 (57 balls)
Ricketts 78 (120 balls)

Last Wicket: Blake lbw b. Lewins 31 (FOW: 84/1)

Steady going here towards our declaration

Winn 26-4-99-1
Phillips* 1 (6 balls)
Stanton 6 (12 balls)

Last Wicket: Browne b. Mohammed 133 (FOW: 380/4)

Mohammed removes both centurions ! I think Mrs BB is a bit miffed that he's actually bowling :)

End of Over 13 (8 runs). Pettefershire CCC: 58-1, runrate=4.46 (1st Inn: 502-3 dec)
Lead by 195 runs. (The Fortescue CC 365-10)
