FC- Week 3

The fitness hits are hiuge and I'm starting to think you need to aim for minimum:

All Rounders - Superb
Bowlers - Strong
Batsmen - Proficient

if you're going to put out a strong team in every match.

I'd go along with except for WK/Bats, I reckon they might need Strong as well.

I'd say that respectable for batmen is the minimum, Bartlett has played every game so far and hasn't dropped from sublime

And back to my game, two wickets in two balls means my bowlers will have to bowl again if they haven't enforced the follow on.
End of Over 81 (3 runs). Southend United: 355-8, runrate=4.38
Trail by 247 runs. (Royal Bruisers 602-5 dec)
Patterson 5-1-18-2
Plummer* 5 (20 balls)
Mapes 0 (2 balls)

Last Wicket: Malik b. Patterson 0 (FOW: 355/8)

We're in the lead !! Need to bat until after tea-time I would guess to avoid defeat.

End of Over 27 (1 runs). BATTY SHRIMPERS: 116-3, runrate=4.30 (1st Inn: 363-3 dec)
Lead by 5 runs. (Wolfmen 474-10 dec)
Blezard 4-0-7-0
Middleton* 56 (63 balls)
Blake 11 (29 balls)

Last Wicket: Raziuddin c. Drench b. Fredericks 10 (FOW: 61/3)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

End of Over 7 (2 runs). DIBS DIPPERS: 18-0, runrate=2.57 (1st Inn: 219-10)
Trail by 310 runs. (Aylesbury 363-6 dec & 184-4 dec)
Donaldson 4-0-8-0
Owens* 10 (26 balls)
Potter 8 (16 balls)

311 needed off 81 overs (RRR 3.84)

I'd say that respectable for batmen is the minimum, Bartlett has played every game so far and hasn't dropped from sublime
He never bats for very long though.... :p

My bowling stars are settling nicely into FC. Suthers' wickets with Cooky's economy are quite a lethal combination:

Match Figures:
Name O M R W nb wd
Sutherland 29 5 73 10 0 1
Cook 26 12 28 5 1 0

My next highest wicket taker was 'run out'!

Lunchtime

Innes 5-1-23-0
Horsfield* 14 (13 balls)
Gobern 9 (15 balls)
Last Wicket: Thornley b. Chamberlain 42 (FOW: 99/3)

The players are off the field for lunch.

End of Over 136 (10 runs). Rival Schools: 632-2, runrate=4.65 (1st Inn: 219-10)

Khotsofalang 18-1-80-1
Oshea* 306 (378 balls)
Muggins 69 (62 balls)

Last Wicket: Fuller c. Browne b. Hitchman 87 (FOW: 464/2)

Akram, Hitchman and Khotosolang will be bowling the 110 overs today! I have got away with it in this game! :D Fitness levels looked good before the match so should have 2 strong teams for the 2 50-over games coming up!

Kev

Lunch-time here too, and I think I might need to dope test my batters, as they are belting along at nearly 5 an over when we are trying to save the game!

The players are off the field for lunch.

End of Over 34 (7 runs). BATTY SHRIMPERS: 160-5, runrate=4.71 (1st Inn: 363-3 dec)
Lead by 49 runs. (Wolfmen 474-10 dec)

Law* 17 (11 balls)
Middleton 71 (87 balls)

Last Wicket: Ricketts b. Blezard 8 (FOW: 136/5)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mrs BB's game rests totally on Harry's shoulders.

The players are off the field for lunch.

End of Over 14 (6 runs). DIBS DIPPERS: 47-2, runrate=3.36 (1st Inn: 219-10)
Trail by 281 runs. (Aylesbury 363-6 dec & 184-4 dec)
Watkins 7-1-21-2
Judd* 3 (16 balls)
Potter 30 (37 balls)

Last Wicket: Stride c. Clegg b. Watkins 0 (FOW: 18/2)

She needs 282 off of 74 overs (RRR 3.81)

Would anyone bother training this guy in WK?

Brad Lamey - 17 yo, BT Rating=5,238
RH Batsman, LM Bowler, mediocre batting form, superb bowling form, changeable
An attacking player with respectable leadership skills and abysmal experience.
Stamina: mediocre Wicket Keeping: feeble
Batting: respectable Concentration: mediocre
Bowling: worthless Consistency: worthless
Fielding: woeful

Figuring one net for three seasons will get him to superb which is only a level lower than my current WK. If I single net him till he's 22 he should get to around exceptional.

Can't decide whether to do it or not.

Well my batters have obviously not listened to a word I've said and have added 32 in the 5 overs after lunch !

End of Over 39 (1 runs, 1b). BATTY SHRIMPERS: 192-5, runrate=4.92 (1st Inn: 363-3 dec)
Lead by 81 runs. (Wolfmen 474-10 dec)

Potter* 33 (46 balls)
Mohammed 0 (2 balls)

Last Wicket: Percival lbw b. Watkins 0 (FOW: 55/5)

Lead of over 100 now, and we're still scoring at a rate of knots.

End of Over 44 (5 runs, 1lb). BATTY SHRIMPERS: 211-5, runrate=4.80 (1st Inn: 363-3 dec)
Lead by 100 runs. (Wolfmen 474-10 dec)
Downing 13-1-53-1
Middleton* 106 (120 balls)
Law 31 (38 balls)

Last Wicket: Ricketts b. Blezard 8 (FOW: 136/5)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

End of Over 24 (10 runs). DIBS DIPPERS: 86-7, runrate=3.58 (1st Inn: 219-10)
Trail by 242 runs. (Aylesbury 363-6 dec & 184-4 dec)
Watkins 12-2-37-6

The players are off the field for the change of innings.

End of Over 50 (2 runs). BATTY SHRIMPERS: 219-10, runrate=4.38 (1st Inn: 363-3 dec)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

And that's the end of the match. Aylesbury won by 236 runs.

Put in to bat again luckily, the superstars are scoring at a run a ball, set no declaration score so this'll be a draw.

Gilbert* 44 (54 balls)
Jagielka 14 (27 balls)

Last Wicket: Schutte b. Oconnor 23 (FOW: 44/1)

Looking like 2 defeats out of 3. My own fault for declaring (in hindsight) way too early, should have batted on to 500 at least. Oh well, you live and learn.

35 overs to get a wicket then chase down 133+ for Nick. He's off ill so doesn't even know what's going on, luckily I set his batsmen to attacking for him this morning!
