FC - Week 1

2 early wickets swing this back in our direction....

End of Over 55 (1 runs). Surrey Snakes: 196-5, runrate=3.56 (1st Inn: 103-10)
Trail by 86 runs. (Pettefershire CCC 164-10 & 221-10)
Jones 15-4-45-1
Baines* 17 (34 balls)
Hockenhull 0 (3 balls)

Last Wicket: Newsome c. Mcmahon b. Harmison 0 (FOW: 195/5)

Suthers set to V Attacking to try and force a result. First breakthrough has come.

End of Over 12 (4 runs). Bishop Floggers: 19-1, runrate=1.58 (1st Inn: 241-10)
Trail by 77 runs. (ShrimperZone CC 337-10)
Sutherland 6-2-8-1
Parkes* 5 (30 balls)
Ali 4 (2 balls)

Last Wicket: Atkins c. Lamey b. Sutherland 10 (FOW: 15/1)

Mario is down to invigorated after a ton yesterday, everyone else is sublime. Seems to have been some tweaks to PFL hits based on time at the crease or successive overs bowled.

There has been a slight tweak to PFL loss in FC games, but nothing too dramatic. Long long innings will be more tiring now than before - shorter, normal sized innings, not much difference.

It's working.....

End of Over 20 (8 runs). Bishop Floggers: 47-3, runrate=2.35 (1st Inn: 241-10)
Trail by 49 runs. (ShrimperZone CC 337-10)
Sutherland 10-2-21-3
Maxwell* 14 (20 balls)
Eastwood 5 (3 balls)

Last Wicket: Ali c. Plummer b. Sutherland 10 (FOW: 39/3)

Good start to the FC season

And that's the end of the match. Southend United won by an innings and 140 runs.

End of Over 60 (Maiden). Chris Cavemen: 140-10, runrate=2.33 (1st Inn: 176-10)
Trail by 140 runs. (Southend United 456-5 dec)
Cahill 9-3-19-2
Ehiogu* 46 (159 balls)
59.6 W Cahill to Mohammed
Farcical! Mohammed jabbed his bat down on a full delivery and as the ball cannoned high into the air, he set off without realising that the ball was going straight to the bowler. By the time he noticed the stumps had been thrown down and he's sent packing.

Harmless takes out the tail and Petts win by 69 Runs. Going to be a very tight league this one, need to strengthen asap.

Scores are level. We need one more breakthrough to expose their long tail.

End of Over 40 (1 runs). Bishop Floggers: 96-4, runrate=2.40 (1st Inn: 241-10)
Scores are level. (ShrimperZone CC 337-10)
Plummer 8-1-19-0
Eastwood* 36 (63 balls)
Francis 9 (39 balls)

Last Wicket: Maxwell c. Marriott b. Schofield 21 (FOW: 57/4)

We're going to lose!

End of Over 18 (8 runs). Yorkshire puddens: 86-1, runrate=4.78 (1st Inn: 249-10)
Trail by 38 runs. (Napster's XI 230-10 & 143-10)
Mirza 9-0-42-1
Cooke* 26 (46 balls)
Clement 46 (51 balls)

Last Wicket: Robin c. Back b. Mirza 13 (FOW: 23/1)

I sense a run chase

The players are off the field for lunch.

End of Over 60 (1 runs, 1lb). The Elbows: 212-3, runrate=3.53 (1st Inn: 292-10)
Lead by 27 runs. (The Flying Scotsmen 477-5 dec)
Coutts 19-2-68-0
Mcdonald* 34 (55 balls)
Kanelo 102 (192 balls)

Last Wicket: Hodgson lbw b. Gaskin 28 (FOW: 133/3)

Could be the breakthrough I needed, but with 54 overs to go I could do with taking some more wickets fairly quickly to give me enough time to chase this down.

End of Over 82 (8 runs). The Elbows: 301-4, runrate=3.67 (1st Inn: 292-10)
Lead by 116 runs. (The Flying Scotsmen 477-5 dec)
Mclaren 11-3-41-0
Mattis* 1 (4 balls)
Kanelo 145 (249 balls)

Last Wicket: Mcdonald c. Mclaren b. Sansom 68 (FOW: 293/4)

BIG WICKET! But is it too late with 42 overs left in the day. I know my batsmen score quickly but could be a big ask.

End of Over 93 (2 runs, 1b). The Elbows: 333-5, runrate=3.58 (1st Inn: 292-10)
Lead by 148 runs. (The Flying Scotsmen 477-5 dec)
Coutts 23-2-85-1
Tau* 1 (2 balls)
Mattis 12 (27 balls)

Last Wicket: Kanelo lbw b. Coutts 162 (FOW: 332/5)

Job done.

ShrimperZone CC won by 9 wickets.

Reporter's Summary
ShrimperZone CC Bishop Floggers
Top Order: exquisite masterful
Middle Order: remarkable strong
Lower Order: woeful abysmal
Seam Bowling: miraculous sensational
Spin Bowling: elite miraculous
Fielding: respectable proficient

Well things turned dramatically in my game since i last posted. By the close of play yesterday, i'd been bowled out for 248 and they had gone ahead and still had 7 wickets left. However, i took 7 wickets for 16 runs this morning which meant we needed just 84 to win. At 3-2, we were struggling but Browne and Sookram put on a crucial partnership and then decided to lose 5 wickets for 10 runs and ended up only winning by 3 wickets.

General Stars All Guns Blazing
Top Order: superb remarkable
Middle Order: wonderful superb
Lower Order: woeful worthless
Seam Bowling: exceptional exceptional
Spin Bowling: phenomenal elite
Fielding: respectable mediocre

Only another £30,000 in the bank so that takes me to just £310,000 for the 3 days which isn't great.

Kev

Their 9th wicket partnership lasted 8 overs and they've added 30-odd runs which has probably saved them the game!

I need 188 runs off 26 overs @ 7.23 an over which is Twenty20 rate!

The players are off the field for the change of innings.

End of Over 109 (Maiden). The Elbows: 372-10, runrate=3.41 (1st Inn: 292-10)
Lead by 187 runs. (The Flying Scotsmen 477-5 dec)

30.1 W Last to Mampe
That's Mampe gone, Last has trapped him in front of leg stump! Full and flat, it straightened slightly after pitching and took the pad. The umpire had no doubts about that one and raised the finger of fate in quick time!

End of Over 30 (Maiden). Tom Jones Enthusiasts: 58-4, runrate=1.93 (1st Inn: 359-10)

Mampe* 6 (11 balls)
Anthony 21 (85 balls)
Last Wicket: Cox c. Rautenbach b. Last 15 (FOW: 50/4)

Got bowled out today, but it could end up making me win what was petering out to a draw. Good hour and a half in store.

Last Wicket: Hunt c. Rautenbach b. Last 0 (FOW: 77/10)

Brilliant stuff from Last. Win by 127 runs. Great stuff.

Swayne took a hefty fitness knock to lively, at invigorated now, will put him down the order for tomorrow's game, the first time he hasn't opened since his first season.

Looking at the teams ratings in my league - it seems perfectable winnable!

Quatt Boys - Sensentional/Strong bowling & Wonderful/Quality batting (won)
Huddersfield - Exquisite/Wonderful bowling & Wonderful/Strong batting (won)
Suffolk & Good - Superb/Remark bowling & Exceptional/Strong batting (lost)
Caton CC - Quality/Miraculous bowling & Sensational/Superb (lost)

All much of a muchness and hoping my better PFL control will see me thru and these stubborn lot will get worse and worse and make my life easier! :D

I fear it is going to be a long and very hard season, as predicted.

First innings 361 for 6 declared
Opposition 393 for 6 declared.

I set a declaration figure this morning of 280 figuring they wouldn't make the runs but I may just have around 45 overs to have a go at them

All out for 111 in the second innings :p
