FC - Week 1

Finally

The players are off the field for the change of innings.

End of Over 67 (1 runs). Chris Cavemen: 176-10, runrate=2.63
Gichki 10-5-21-2
Nagamootoo* 1 (22 balls)
66.3 W Gichki to Mohammed
Bowled. Stumps all over the shop. Great bowling from Gichki. Mohammed had no answer to that.

This guy is putting in a very annoying stint.

End of Over 73 (Maiden). Bishop Floggers: 226-5, runrate=3.10
Plummer 9-2-28-1
Mellor* 2 (39 balls)
Eastwood 77 (103 balls)

Last Wicket: Francis b. Sutherland 0 (FOW: 205/5)

EDIT:

73.5 W Marriott to Mellor
Bowled 'im! Marriott at his best. Good length, great line, good revolutions, straight through Mellor and bails scattered.

End of Over 84 (9 runs). Nipples CC: 347-4, runrate=4.13
Sekhon 14-3-53-0
Lay* 101 (139 balls)
Tait 50 (65 balls)
Last Wicket: Hughes c. Lamacq b. Best 102 (FOW: 235/4)

Things going swimmingly here. Their batsmen shouldnt put up too much resistance either.

20 overs to see out tonight, with sunny weather forecast tomorrow we'll hopefully make it through without too many casualties.

End of Over 89 (Maiden). Bishop Floggers: 241-10, runrate=2.71
Ryan 16-3-52-2
Mcclenahan* 0 (16 balls)

88.2 W Ryan to Shipp
Shipp attempted an expansive cut through backward point, but ended up chopping onto his stumps - much to the delight of Ryan, as the ball deserved to be sent to the boundary.

158-4 at the close! Lost Sookram late on to their gun bowler so Deane and Raven at the crease with Cook still to bat. Great 72 from Browne - who has started the season very nicely! Hoping to take advantage of the nicer weather tomorrow and make hay and anything above 300 and im happy!

Kev

83-1, lost Richie cheaply but we have the tools to cope if that happens these days. 9 wickets to play with and sunny weather should mean we'll be on top come close tomorrow. They have one bowler playing who only earns £2,600 so can hopefully make some hay against him.

Bowling first bowled oppo out for 96, 3 a piece for new boy Sharma, Williams and Mcgouran and 7 dismissals for WK Birkett including 3 stumpings off medium-pacers. Ended the day 334-4, Swayne as usual doing the most damage with 146*. Will declare at 360 and hope to bowl them out again tomorrow.

Only 6724 turned up meaning 118k in the bank but most annoyingly only 243 members taking 1000 available seats, hopefully they'll come out in force for the OD opener on Friday.

ended the day 456-4 after i forgot to set a declaration figure, so will declare soon tomorrow morning, get them out cheap and enforce the follow on, although will hope they last more than a day with their 2 innings so i get all 3 days of gate revenue.

Scorecard: Nipples CC 456-4 (won the toss and chose to bat)
Lay 159*
Hughes 102
Tait 96*

great day for the bowlers today. we were knocked over for 164, then got them out for 103 to finish 15-1 at the close, 76 ahead. superb allround performance from Barnesy- 60 from 70 balls, followed by bowling figures of 6-29.

not sure if you know but in FC you get 3-day ticket sales on day 1, so that's your fans buying tickets to all 3 days in advance, you get 'on the day' ticket sales for days 2 and 3 which are far less than what you get on day 1.

didnt know that cheers
from reading comments in other places thought it best to try to drag it for 3 days although the day rest would probably be more useful than an extra £1000.

The need for dragging a game out has subsided since the recent gate receipt changes. When it was a single day takings it did cause a problem trying to balance the finances against PFL management. With the new receipts i don't mind 2 day home games so much now as i have relatively low outgoings compared to some other users on here at 145k. I received 118k today and maybe 10-15k tomorrow perhaps and plus a home OD game on Friday, which should be a good crowd, then a days rest is better for me now than 10-15k (or aquivalent).

Not doing so well in the first game- 230 a/o, with Jeffers hitting 105, and only Armstrong hitting 45 as well.

Sandy falls early but a decent knock.

End of Over 30 (1 runs). ShrimperZone CC: 106-2, runrate=3.53
Trail by 135 runs. (Bishop Floggers 241-10)
Mcclenahan 14-2-37-0
Plummer* 8 (15 balls)
Lamey 31 (56 balls)

Last Wicket: Sandile c. Eastwood b. Mellor 53 (FOW: 94/2)

Declared for 466-4, leaving Tait on 99* and Lay 163*.
Hope to bowl them out cheap enough to enforce the follow on today.

They've had a small collapse!

End of Over 40 (5 runs). Yorkshire puddens: 163-4, runrate=4.08
Trail by 67 runs. (Napster's XI 230-10)
Mirza 18-1-81-1
Finnis* 6 (14 balls)
Lizwelicha 5 (11 balls)

Last Wicket: Cooke lbw b. Allan 16 (FOW: 152/4)

Bad start this morning - losing Cook, Deane and Johnson cheaply - so have to rely on Raven and Stanton to get us near the 250 mark!

Kev

The crappy bowler managed one over yesterday, will he be hauled off again?

End of Over 41 (13 runs). ShrimperZone CC: 143-2, runrate=3.49
Trail by 98 runs. (Bishop Floggers 241-10)
Shipp 2-0-20-0
Plummer* 31 (50 balls)
Lamey 45 (87 balls)

Last Wicket: Sandile c. Eastwood b. Mellor 53 (FOW: 94/2)

Big Ben and Butler steadying the ship after an early collapse..

End of Over 28 (7 runs). Pettefershire CCC: 99-4, runrate=3.54 (1st Inn: 164-10)
Lead by 160 runs. (Surrey Snakes 103-10)
Hockenhull 3-1-15-0
Butler* 45 (49 balls)
Thornley 35 (87 balls)

Last Wicket: Horsfield c. Angelo b. Innes 4 (FOW: 19/4)
