FC - The second half starts HERE!!

What's the best position to hide a weak bowler in OD? 3rd on default orders? Need to hide a strong/respectable spinner tomorrow.
To add to that:

v Chilwell (III) - Downes 10 0 58 0 0 0 - played at 3
v Buckland (III) - Downes 10 0 49 1 1 0 - played at 3
v Irwell (III) - Mcdonald 5 0 23 2 1 1 - played at 3
v Woking (III) - Mcdonald 10 1 53 1 2 0 - played at 3
v Devilfish (III) - Singh lali 10 0 83 0 0 0 - played at 5
v Clippers (II) - Singh lali 10 0 60 1 1 0 - played at 3

So the only time anyone got caned was when they bowled at 5.

Excellent, thanks for that, it's what I expected. At 3 they have middle overs and none in the last 10. A performance like the Irwell one would be very welcome!

I played a III in round 1 as well, makes me chuckle that in the Quarter Finals I've got one of my easiest matches of the tournament so far!

Toddy - I'm now brassic!

Didn't realise that extended to BT too...

Trying to raise funds for this player, up for £6.5mill, and I'm at £6mill. A good buy?

Martin Daniell (1738588) shortcut

RH Batsman, RH Spin Bowler, superb batting form, proficient bowling form, invigorated fitness.
A destructive player with competent leadership skills and abysmal experience.

Plays For: 3 Shredded Wheat
Nationality: England
Age: 18 Years Old
Battrick Rating: 32,074
Wages: £3,757 p/w

Stamina: strong Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: worthless Concentration: woeful
Bowling: quality Consistency: superb
Fielding: mediocre

Very nice, the stamina and age make him effectively remarkable value so I wouldn't baulk at paying £6.5m.

An 18 year old quality/strong went for 6.3m the other day, with respectable stamina, so 6.5m is a good price.

Blimey, i could get about 6 million for Sookram already!?! He will be quality/strong (with superb stamina and prof fielding) ALBEIT BATTING by next week, or the week after ...

:)

Johnson and Raven aren't bowling, so my lads are getting tonked all over the place. Bout 350 behind already. Made £275,000 tho in gate reciepts!

Kev

Good, I just need the money. I paid £6.1m for Cahill last year, who has comp stamina, the same bowling/cons stats but quality fielding too.

Think of it as 27 weeks training on 4 nets so that's 108 nets. If you assume that one level of primary is worth about £1m and a player trained on one net for 5 seasons will average a pop about every 16 weeks that makes it about £62,500 per net.

£62,500 x 108 = £6.75m. That's ignoring his original base value of probably £1m of course but the maths kind of work.

Don't the nets decrease in effectiveness the more you do. So 4 nets is probably only 3.3 or something?

True, but it's just a rough guide. You will make more money from putting 4 nets on 4 players than putting all 4 on one player, however when you get to the higher levels you have to wait that much longer for your return on that investment if you are training players to be part of your first XI.

Next season I will be training two new batsmen who will start on single nets but will ultimately be on 3 or 4 each once slots clear up as I need them up to speed asap to fill the vital 8 and 9 batting spots.

End of Over 58 (16 runs). Southend: 135-6, runrate=2.33 (1st Inn: 131-10)
Trail by 150 runs. (Adders CC 254-10 & 162-10)
Darby 14-2-43-1
Hitish* 0 (3 balls)
Granville 18 (9 balls)
Last Wicket: Futcher c. Zonke b. Sale 10 (FOW: 119/6)

Losing this one, barring a wonder show from Granville. Won't happen though.

Nearly there

The players are off the field for lunch.

End of Over 35 (3 runs). Six Stars: 91-6, runrate=2.60 (1st Inn: 11-10)
Trail by 997 runs. (BATTY SHRIMPERS 1099-9 dec)
Petty 9-1-31-1
Dowe* 44 (70 balls)
Stansfield 0 (7 balls)

Last Wicket: Uddin c. Evelyn b. Fisher 0 (FOW: 80/6)

Lost by 113 runs. Two poor performances with the bat, just another typical FC game for me.

End of Over 87 (3 runs). The Cricket Nufties: 419-0, runrate=4.82 (1st Inn: 339-10)
Lead by 522 runs. (General Stars 236-10)
Thompson 27-0-139-0
Durkin* 175 (281 balls)
Mcphee 228 (243 balls

Glad these lot like to bat!!

I'm looking forward to being able to actually play in FC games again. I feel I should throw games till the end of the season now as:

a) I'm already going down anyway
b) It would be unfair to throw games against one team and not others
c) The week after the semi I'm playing Kev in the SZ Cup so it would be rude not to field a full line up against him

On a GFI my bowling line up may well now be Elite/Elite, I don't expect to get through the semi but at least I should give them something to think about! Just need to be at home and win the toss.

Assuming I win Sunday of course.....

End of Over 15 (6 runs, 1lb). General Stars: 50-1, runrate=3.33 (1st Inn: 236-10)
Trail by 554 runs. (The Cricket Nufties 339-10 & 501-0 dec)
Moody 8-3-22-1
Philip* 9 (30 balls)
Lamb 28 (41 balls)

Last Wicket: Bayliss b. Moody 10 (FOW: 24/1)

Should survive! Not sure why the oppo gave himself a 600 run lead ...

Lost by 10 wickets, means relegation is pretty much guaranteed, it's probably for the best while I'm building a team (of sorts :p)
