Bankers in Brighton - one of the things that I miss about the place.
Always liked the 'Codfather' and the 'star fish enterprise ' myself :nope:

Sheffield is absolutely dreadful for fish and chips... there must be some sort of inverse relationship between 'distance from the sea' and 'quality of fish and chips'.
Up here would have to be Zanres Fish & Chip Shop, Mintlaw, Abeedenshire.
Back home would have to be with out a doubt…Jacko’s chip Shop at the top of Daileys Road in Rochford, Interesting fact about Jacko’s is that Jack Taylor the owner is Peter Taylor’s brother
Ah, but is Kebab World still open on Crookes Road? Biggest Kebab EVER! (Bizarely you could have it laid out on a naan rather than pitta so there was less constraints on room!).
My current favourite is Louis fish bar, Long Road, Canvey Island.
There is always a queue which is a good sign.
Nope, the one on elmsleigh drive next to the londis. Fish to go its called, one at kent elms too but bit of a journey if your nearer leigh!
As it goes, for the nicest chips is definitely the chip shop on the London Road at Southend. Opposite sainsburys, all I can tell you is it is a green shop, it's not run by english people either and it never disappoints!
Oh great! I'm always wanting a fish to go when im in leigh, usually end up going into Leigh Kebab or Brodway Grill! There's a new one opening soon opposite Irma's. Been a long time getting ready. Heard they are supposed to be very good.
And, Davewebbsbrain, you're spot on..!

Go to fish to go at kent elms or the one on elmsleigh drive if you haven't been there. Never disappoints. That'll be Henry Higgins, very nice fish and chips, probably my favourite in Southend. Since I moved to Eastwood though I've found it very difficult to find a decent chippy, the best probably being Queens in Rayleigh but they are very stingy on the size of fish.
I remember the day it opened in the early 80's and they gave away free chips!
