We aren't going to be given the blue seats in the NB. That will stay as away fans only and they will continue to enter via Fairfax Drive, possibly via a new gate soon.Is there currently a wall between W and X blocks? If home fans were in North Blue + Yellow blocks they would all have to enter / exit through North East corner turnstiles to retain North West entrance for segregation purposes for away fans.
Berlin should be jealous as ours are still standing.Yeah, it’s not exactly going to make the one in Berlin jealous, but Block X has walls on both sides

I'd imagine there will be more than 37 in there come match day. I'd wager fair few actually have season ticket seats in the west but move to Block W making it overcrowded. Opening up Block X will allow Block W to be less overcrowdedJust 37 tickets sold for the x block
Double off topic, but I saw it in all its, ahem, splendour in '68.Off topic I know, but there are still a few large sections standing. Berlin is a beautifully eerie city. Great beers too
One further point on this is that, if and when, any fanzone is created in the East stand car park you'd be more likely to see people from the West stand in there spending their money if they can get to the East stand without having to leave the stadium to walk up Victoria Avenue, along West Street and down Shakespeare Drive. A five minute walk behind the North stand would be so much more convenient. That's a very valid point.
For the Yeovil game they opened the gate between the West and North stands to accommodate the new snack bar. You can also enter the ground via the SE turnstiles and walk through the South Lower to get to the West. I've done this a few times to avoid the long walk you mention. I'm sure it will be factored in.One further point on this is that, if and when, any fanzone is created in the East stand car park you'd be more likely to see people from the West stand in there spending their money if they can get to the East stand without having to leave the stadium to walk up Victoria Avenue, along West Street and down Shakespeare Drive. That's exactly what I'm getting at. If the North stand could somehow be given back to home fans then there would be no need for the gates at all.For the Yeovil game they opened the gate between the West and North stands to accommodate the new snack bar. Treble off topic—that stretch of land was heavily landmined— I always used Checkpoint Charlie instead.Double off topic, but I saw it in all its, ahem, splendour in '68.
The wall itself wasn't that big; but the race across an open stretch of land, trying to get past barbed wire and a sentry post every 150-200m was the issue.
The West wall looks a bit more surmountable!
Oddly enough, foreign visitors could to-and-fro via the Tube!Treble off topic—that stretch of land was heavily landmined— I always used Checkpoint Charlie instead.
Nice to see Criko's thread yesterday about being off topic is being adhered to.
What a disappointing time that was to be a Southend supporter. We'd beaten Workington 7-0 to go 2nd in the League and then proceded to not win any of our next 8 games. Those 8 games included those two 2-1 defeats to Doncaster either side of the 1-1 with Chesterfield.Blues drew 1-1 with Chesterfield either side of 2-1 defeats to Doncaster.
I think I had the better of the drama.
An even more disappointing time to be an East Berliner I would say. What a disappointing time that was to be a Southend supporter.
