Goes to prove that getting rid of replays is an absolute shocker of a decision by the authorities.

Well, if we didn’t have replay against Scarborough, Oldham and Brentford, we would played against Chelsea twice and Liverpool away. As we had the momentum against them and we would have beaten them in extra time.

Although Charlton are actually 8th one place above Huddersfield and many above Northampton- so presumably they would expect Charlton to field a weakened side as well.

I suspect we seek logic where there is none…

I'd expect Charlton to sell their 800 or so tickets quickly and field a strong squad, with maybe one or two on the bench.

It will be a tough game but one that we should just approach as a bonus game and have a real go at winning without the cautious approach in the league.

There has been a fair few words about the Chris Powell link between us and CA.... BUT isn't a bigger link our own Hamstel Road and Southend High "boy", the Left Foot Forward, ( and manager/FA players rep) Garrrrrrry Nelson?
I believe he still lives locally and does get along a fair bit.
Very good player for us.
