Will have to look at the tables again tomorrow, but with Glamorgan and Middlesex yet again being woeful, Im not even sure we can get through with all the others playing each other there are guaranteed points for some of our rivals, and we are now down to 6th.

1 Hampshire 13 10 1 0 2 0.94 20.0
2 Somerset 14 6 4 0 4 1.11 16.0
3 Sussex 13 7 4 0 2 0.48 16.0
4 Kent 13 7 4 0 2 -0.36 16.0
5 Surrey 13 6 4 0 3 0.11 15.0
6 Essex 14 6 6 0 2 -0.07 14.0

Remaining fixtures

Sussex - Kent, Hampshire, Surrey
Kent - Sussex, Surrey, Essex
Surrey - Hampshire, Kent, Sussex
Essex - Glamorgan, Kent

So if Sussex beat Kent and lose to the other 2, they will have 18 points. If Kent beat Surrey and lost to the other 2, they will have 18 points, if Surrey beat Sussex and lose the other 2 they will have 17 points, and if we win our last 2 we will have 18 points. Which will mean we would probably finish 4th on NRR.

Tonight's games

Surrey v Hampshire, The Kia Oval, 18:30
Essex v Glamorgan, Chelmsford, 19:00
Kent v Sussex, Canterbury, 19:10

So we need wins for Sussex and Hampshire, along with a win for us.

Somerset have Middlesex and Gloucs, and I can't seem them losing both of those....

Well Hamp**** will have to chase a gettable 155 against Surrey. Matty Prior is doing excellent and Sussezx are 116-2 with 7 overs to go. Essex restricting Glamorgan well as they have just 107 with 4 to go. And Gloucs may spring a surprise against Somerset ...

Sounds like a pretty dire days cricket at Grace Road. We won the toss and elected to bat, then proceeded to crawl along at a painfully slow rate, losing wickets, until we had slipped to 174-7. With Foster and Chambers at the wicket we seem to have suddenly remembered that batting bonus points were on offer and pushed on. A good stand of 69 has just been broken, with Chambers out, now 248-8 after 92 overs.

After Sussex got smashed by Hampshire - theyve put themselves in real trouble. They have Surrey in their last game so if Surrey win then its not all bad as if we beat Kent (and make up .23 in NRR in the process) then we can qualify along with Somerset, Hampshire and Surrey. Kent can win their other game as their NRR is pretty weak in comparison to us and everyone else.

So if Kent can beat Surrey, but not hammer them, we should qualify with a win against Kent regardless of the other results. However if Surrey beat Kent, and lose to Sussex, we're out regardless of how we get on.

Must be a good chance of our game being on the telly on Friday....

What you mean to say, without doing my nut in, is that qualification is no longer in our own hands! :winking:

Who's this guy Mills who's playing in the game against Leics?

256/8.....

Tymal (?) Mills.

Young, raw left-arm quick. Has played for England u19. Apparently took up cricket relatively late but has wheels.

Think he played against Sri Lanka in the tourist game, but he doesn't appear to have been ripping up trees in the 2nd XI going by scorecards so was a little surprised to see him given a game.

Qualification was out of our hands a long time ago :nope:

Shame that Hants failed to chase Surrey's relatively small target last week, as that would have meant we only needed to win against Kent. Still think we have a reasonable chance....
