Can someone tell me, is Tsotsobe a professional cricketer? Reminds me of that bloke, wasn't Southampton signed, who proved to be a fraud. He sounds a catastrophy with his bowling a disaster with his fielding............and his batting isn't too hot either!

Thank you for the rain .................there MUST have been rain, for us to get out with a draw. Derbyshire, quite rightly will feel cheated. With that bowling line-up and that lower order batting I fear it's going to be a long summer of toil for Essex.

Tsotsobe actually played pretty well when he was called up for the Saffers, his OD average is pretty useful. Don't think it was against anyone of any note though.

Probably against Zimbabwe in the recent World Cup.

A real shame Essex weren't able to sign Siddle or Southee for first class matches.

Interestingly he's played 20 ODI's against:

India x6 - 14.63
Windies x4 - 17.67
Pakistan x4 - 20.14
Zim x4 - 42.00
Bangla x 1 - 4.67
Convicts x 1 - 12.50

Total 39 wickets at an average of 18.74. Take out the matches against Zimbabwe and it's 16.81!!

Lopsy Tosspot dropped for Surrey.

Bops is on Lions duty.

Napier and Chambers set to return.

Think Comber will be 12th man.

A respectable 94-2 at lunch against Sorry, thank mainly to the partnership between Alastair Cook (58*) and extras (25*).

After Cooks 50 and a bit of a wobble Wheater and MtS have steadied things somewhat being 31 and 40* .. 177/3 at present

I've had a sensational bit of Cricket news today. I've been invited this Sunday to Windsor Castle to represent Broadhalfpenny Brigands against the Royal Household. If you know your cricket history as I'm sure most of you do, Broadhalfpenny Down in Hampshire is where they formulated the original Laws of the game. I've been told that if the Queen is in residence she usually comes to watch for a short period.

As you can imagine I'm extremely excited about this and will try and post some photos of the day next week if anyone is interested and if I'm allowed.

318/6 - Blinkin' 'eck!
Considering that we were put in, I don't suppose that's a bad day. A pity that, at least one of the following, Cook(63), Walker(76), Wheater(64), having become well established, was not able to push on to a century. Would like to think that we could move towards 400 this morning but there again, reflecting on our recent tail-end performances, perhaps 340 is a bit more realistic!

Many many congratulations DBP .. how do you get invited to such a gig anyway ??

It appears Napier is opening his shoulders to good effect this morning, scoring at a run a ball today .. 366/8 Napier 54*

:Worthy:

Cricko was the scribe who wrote down the original laws of the game. Great gig and be good to see the photos.

Bloody Chris Wright, get out the way !!!

4 4lb 1 | 4 6 . 4 . . | . . . . . 1 | . . . 1 . .

I'll let you work out whos hogging the strike at the moment

405/8 Napier 82* from 95 balls

2 4 4 . 6

hmm .. i wonder whos facing now :sherlock:

followed by another 6

105* Graham Napier take a bow :Worthy:

Wright and Napier have added 83 for the 9th wicket off 74 balls

Wright has contributed 13 off 47 meaning the other 70 have come off 27 Napier deliveries .. ok, so maybe a few extras too but mightily impressive hitting nonetheless

28 off the over takes Napes to 150*

:loyalsupporter: :loyalsupporter:

This is his highest ever first class score, just 2 short of that T20 innings now ...

God Bless Graham Napier. He has looked a different player since his return... He bats in glasses/contacts now.... Maybe this helps!?!
