Essex CCC 2019

120 something for one to nearly all out at just over 200 is simply not good enough and Somerset are too good a side not to take advantage.
Nick Browne going backwards in his career and needs dropping for Chopra who was in fantastic form in the one day cup.
Lawrence not progressed at all and Westley has simply fallen apart since being dropped by England. Captain not contributing much either. Back to the bowling to dig them out once again.
Massively p***** off!

Agreed our batting isn't great and we are relying on our bowling again to get us out of trouble

As I said before, I'm not mad on cricket, but do follow and cheer on Essex. The batting has been bad this and last season. Lots of under performers. Where would they be without Harmer?

Yeah he is a great bowler. We certainly need to strengthen in the batting department.Im sure we will look into this at end of the season

Probably thought Cook was the answer to our prayers , I know I did. He hasn’t played badly at all but if he gets out early which can always happen to any opener then we’re relying on Ravi who again has been okay but take them two out and there’s nothing.
Can see this as last season for Tendo with either Ravi having a second bite at captaincy or bribing Harmer into staying. That will be tough as there will be offers galore when he’s up for contract.

Still sulking.

our batting has been poor for years other than that glorious stint with Silverwood as coach. he seemed to instill discipline in the team which has been missing since he left (batting discipline that is)

tough job being a bowler. Hopefully a England A place in the winter for this one.

I’m not sure I’d trust them with him - everyone seems to return from time with the England fast bowling development with a stress fracture!

Good to see young Aaron Beard in the wickets. Would be huge if he could take a step forward if Cook's absence.

Got ourselves a 85 run lead.Good position to be in.Get a minimum 250 lead and Somerset will find it hard against our bowling attack
