England vs Pakistan Test Series

I'd certainly like to see that article - and agree with all your observations there, mate. No doubt I've got some 80s/90s nostalgia rattling around in my head - but during that time, Pakistan was a side to be feared and admired in equal measure... Salim Malik, Javed Miandad, Inzamam, Imran Khan, Wasim, Waqar, Mushtaq Ahmed... This side is a pale, pale shadow of that era.

Certainly after reading that I was pleased I had lumped on England to win the series.

Pakistan are clearly not a patch on the class of the 80's and 90's. One of the first series I remember watching on TV was the 92' series in which their bowling attack of Waqar, Wasim, Javed, and Mustaq cut us to shreds and they were truly fearsome and light years ahead of England. One of the issues now may well be how much test cricket has moved on. You see the England dressing room and coaches with the laptops analysing matches and the training drills they do, conditioning, and all the 'plans' they set for batsman and you just cannot imagine Pakistan doing that. I read an interview with Asif this week in which he couldn't recall Morgan's name. They really have been left behind.

6 down now. Third duck, they've had one player hit double figures (17), and two players hit more than 5 runs.

This = Ridiculous.

I sent a message to MrB basically saying the same thing rearding Bangladesh! I've been home 15 mins and its already embarrasing to watch!!

I was being conservative in my tweet earlier and gave a 3 day game (plus I'm not all that with cricket anyways). 2 day match looks very likely.

jesus christ, it's a good thing for them they can't be made to follow on!

good to see Broad in amongst the wickets, although to be fair on that display I probably would have fancied a bowl!

THeir lowest ever score against us.......beating there previous low of......5 days ago!!!

Fair play to England bowlers though, however poor the opposition, they have got them them all out for much less than their averages and have kept the pressure on throughout.

Let's see how England fare against the two Mos before being too damning.

I saw most of the morning session and it was high class stuff from England. No loose stuff and they were swinging it prodgiously.

Whilst the Pakistani batting line-up is probably the weakest in test cricket at the moment, it is only marginally weaker than Bangladesh, New Zealand, Zimbabwe and probably the West Indies', whereas their bowling attack is streets ahead of those countries' attacks.
