England V India

So 3 wickets in that session......Laxman, Dravid, Gambir....think we would have settled for that before play today. 3 wickets in this next session would be nice. I think we will be able to take the new ball just before tea so the spell before and after tea could be vital.

Indeed can't argue with the 3 wickets that we've taken before lunch. England will still have their work cut out taking 6 wickets, but as you say they'll get the new ball just before tea, and will be able to have a second burst with it just after tea. It'll be good to take a 1-0 lead as the 2nd Test starts on Friday.

And for the record I am pleased to say how wrong I've been about Matt Prior, I don't think I really doubted his ability with the bat, but he seems to have come on leaps and bounds as a wicket keeper, and he's now possibly the best in the world. His innings yesterday was brilliant and he throughly deserved a 100.

Broad so far this test has had Dravid and Laxman dropped in the first innings and then in the second Laxman given not out on a very thin edge to the keeper that was reviewed but only shown to be out later on snicko, Gambhir not out on a lbw that pitched outside leg by all of a millimetre and Tendulkar given not out by an absolute plumb lbw that was knocking middle stump out of the ground.

And as I type an edge falls just short of Jimmy Anderson in the slips off of him.

Just one wicket in that session, albeit Tendulkars.

We need a couple of quick wickets with the new ball after tea as their tail can hang around for a few overs.

The previous over Broad had Raina dropped and then an lbw that was so plumb Raina should have walked but given not out.

This is not his test match. He's been excellent.

yeah that's when I started listening, why couldn't it be referred (that LBW?).

No LBW refereals as the Indians don't like the ball tracking technology (such as Hawkeye).......seems they are getting the benefit for it now....

still, we are almost there, come on England!

EDIT: Broad gets the last man....fantastic performance from him and the team as a whole....someone has invariably stepped up in each innings......Prior or Broad for MOTM hopefully....KP got a great double ton but all too often they give the award to the batsman...but Broad and Prior really stepped up when we needed it, getting runs in tricky circumstances and taking crucial first innings wickets.

A good afternoon's entertainment after a tough working day yesterday. I had live streaming on the web which is great, apart from the Indian ads that ran befween nearly every ball. Small price to pay..........great victory. India have hardly got time to recover before the next Test hits them!

Saw the first session but the had to go to work

Awesome performance, World No. 1 spot is beckoning and I think we will stay for quite a while!
