England cricket 2024

Weirdly love the Indian team since the days when Engineer and Bedi were playing and now my favourite player Kohli is just a joy to watch
Full credit to England, had given up after first innings deficit but Pope and Hartley did their bit to record a historic win, let’s not forget Stokes first innings as well
Second test be a great place to be and watch
Two interesting stats I read on the BBC sport app:

1. India had only lost 3 of their last 46 home tests.
2. They had never lost a home test when their 1st innings lead was greater than 100.

Yes something like only lost three home games in ten years, so full credit to England, not an easy place to go and win

Just slightly off topic the W Indies v Australia was just as exciting to watch, fantastic to see WIndies win, hopefully get the youngsters back watching and want to become the new Joseph or Gayle

The Indians now have a problem doctoring the wicket for spinners, our spinners might just fill their boots as well.

Did you see "that" run out?

Refuse to use BT/TNT
BT Sport.....bugger....TMS it is then
I did stupidly think that Radio five live sports extra would at least have commentary. Wrong they were too busy covering Aus v Windies.

Has anybody tried IPTV yet?

much better game, but I think that's all 3 gone, and this one going, with the team that won the toss and batted first. bit of a shame if the toss of a coin dictates the game. but much better with the bat, actually played properly then bowled well

several in India, don't know the place well enough but that's a dream - just a cricket mad country. New Zealand looks beautiful, i love the open grounds rather than soulless stadiums. Plus West Indies. Basically to spend every year following red ball cricket around the world
Dharamshala is up next

I think Brook (assuming he's ok) has to come in for Bairstow in the summer. Maybe Dan Lawrence might get a go in place of Pope. Doesnt appear to be a huge well of talent for fast bowlers. Wood, Archer, Robinson all have fitness issues. Maybe a recall for Matthew Potts? The middle order suddenly looks quite flaky.

I’m failing to see what Stokes brings to this team these days and as for Bazball it looks like it’s been rumbled and as for Bairstow, Anderson and woods get rid, of course this is just my humble opinion chaps, come on lads knuckle down and play Test cricket the right way.
